A Very British Scandal (2021)
Dreadful
This has been one of the worst British productions I've ever seen. It is an utterly pointless exploration of what happens when two dysfunctional adults with money get together. There is nothing else to see.
The Rookie: Real Crime (2022)
Not so bad
I enjoyed the first "documentary" episode more than this one. But it's still fun format for a show not to be taken too seriously. I hope if they do thins again it will be on a funnier subject.
The Gilded Age (2022)
So bad it's good.
This is a bad show. Even so, I find its ridiculous, unbelievable dialogue and plot strangely enthralling. It's as if I can't wait to see how ludicrous it can get.
Don't Look Up (2021)
Don't Bother
An obvious story develops slowly amid a haze of subplots. The stellar cast is wasted. Tremendous disappointment. Watch Wag the Dog or Dr Strangelove to see what political satire is meant to be. Watch this film to kill time on a long flight.
Succession: Chiantishire (2021)
Losing the logic
I found this episode disappointing. The characters are becoming caricatures of themselves (Shiv is just a manipulative extension of Logan, no other agenda or purpose). Storylines are dropping left and right (what happened to Shiv's open marriage? To Kendall's sobriety?). And what was cousin Greg, to say nothing of Gerri, doing at Logan's ex's wedding?
Fantasy Island: His and Hers/The Heartbreak Hotel (2021)
Much better than the pilot
Good stories, good acting by the guest stars. The chemistry between the regulars is a bit choppy. But this episode showed a promise that the pilot lacked.
Glee: Child Star (2015)
Dreadful
This is a terrible episode. I can feel the energy draining out of the show as the finish line approaches.
The Nevers (2021)
Uniquely inventive
This is a great show. Beautiful sets, interesting characters, and an entertaining premise. Mix all that with a wonderful cast and you get a superb show. Give it a try.
