Pharma Bro (2021)
Feels like he's trying to glamorize Shkreli. Misleading parts.
Not sure if the filmmaker is aware but the FBI call Shkreli receives on livestream is not real. It's a clip from a well-known prank calling website and the film plays it off as though it was a real call from the FBI. "Yes, hello, this is a call from Special Agent Webster" comes from the website PrankOwl and can be found by googling it. The doc played it off as though it was a real call from the FBI.
The Room (2019)
Great premise, good execution.
This is a good psychological thriller. It has a great idea and is well executed. It isn't too long or doesn't ever feel like it is dragging along. The entire thing feels fast paced.
I loved that the movie wasn't predictable. Often, movies like this are blessed with a great plot but suffer in the execution. This one keeps you guessing and leaves you pondering the deeper meaning of the film.
The Little Things (2021)
Excellent thriller, great cast.
This was a captivating thriller with an excellent cast. A well-written crime movie that keeps you on your feet. Nothing absolutely exceptional or new about it but it provides the right amount of entertainment for a Sunday night flick at home.
Contratiempo (2016)
Excellent movie. One of my favourites.
I watch A LOT of movies and A LOT of thrillers. This is at the top of my list. Don't think about it, just watch it. It is clever, entertaining, and unexpected.
Horizon Line (2020)
Not realistic but entertaining nonetheless.
If you suspend disbelief, this movie is entertaining! Keeps you on the edge of your seat with suspense. If you like survival movies where you ask yourself "what would I do?", check this one out.
Horror in the High Desert (2021)
Could have been so much better.
This movie was very disappointing. The interviews were far too long and the build up of the story could have been 5 minutes instead of 45. If the writers would have filmed more footage in the dark, creepy woods, movie could have been very great! For the sequel, they should consider doing entirely found footage rather than have interviews. The most effective part of the movie was the last 10 min. Everything else could have been shorter.
