The kind of movie you watch, think "yeah that was good" and then never watch again
11 November 2022
This movie was worth my time. It was entertaining, had good acting, and a decent villain. The only problem was that there was nothing special about it. We've seen the same plot done better in half a dozen other Marvel movies.

Also, while the cast puts up great performances, this movie simply can't live up to the first one with the absence of Chadwick Boseman and Michael B. Jordan. Don't expect this movie to surpass the first one.

This movie is more slow and drawn out than most marvel movies, having a very long runtime and not as much action as a typical Marvel movie. That gives it more time for character development but it's less exciting. Whether that's a good thing or a bad thing is up for debate.

Overall, it's a good movie but nothing more.

This game makes you feel guilty for spending so much time indoors
27 September 2021
This game places you in the middle of a massive land so detailed and beautiful that it truly depresses you that it's not real. There are areas where the temperature goes down or up and you have to deal with it. It rains and that affects things like climbing (speaking of climbing, you can climb almost every surface in the game). You have stamina which makes you have to think about how you will get from point a to point b. The game makes you think the way you would if you were truly in the wild.

On other notes, the story's great, the npcs and all fun, the combat is excellent, and the shrines are a real treat. But the best part about this game is the freedom you feel of simply being in the great outdoors where you can go wherever you want and do whatever you want.

No film has ever made me feel the way I felt watching this movie
20 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I don't fully understand the ending of this film. And I never will. But that's okay, because the ending is not meant to be understood. It's meant to be felt. You don't understand it not because it's overly complicated, but because you are put before a force so far beyond you that your mind simply can't grasp it. It's a truly humbling experience that I've never felt in any other movie.

Ending aside, thanks s movie is amazing and truly looks into the horror of being in the void of space. While there's very little dialogue, the acting is amazing, especially the voice actor of HAL. The visuals and special effects are also stunning for 1968. Seriously, check the movie out. It's amazing.

What can I say
28 July 2021
This movie literally has you crying before it's 5 minutes in. From then on, it shows you raw, unrestrained war for the next 2 hours and 45 minutes. You see the brutal violence and the emotional horror, but you also see the men who fought in WWII, who gave their lives to defend freedom. The movie gives you such a real look into each soldiers life that it feels like you know each one personally. The entire cast gives amazing performances, and Spielberg does his thing to make yet another masterpiece.

I don't have a personal story involving me or a family member regarding the events of this movie like many people do, so I can't relate to it in that way. I just watched this movie and was captivated from scene one until the credits rolled.

Thank you to everyone involved in the making of this film. You have made one of if not the greatest war movie of all time.

Be aware of what kind of movie this is
23 July 2021
If you watch this movie expecting an entertaining film to have fun watching, you will be disappointed. This is not one of those movies. This is the kind of movie that you will only enjoy if you have a real appreciation for the deeper aspects of cinema and want to actually get something out of a film. If that is what you expect watching this movie, you will see it as the masterpiece that it is.

Everything from the directing to the acting to the music is phenomenal, with Daniel Day-Lewis giving the performance of a generation and Paul Dano giving an equally amazing one that sadly went completely overlooked by the Academy (Javier Bardem still deserved to win, but Dano should have been nominated). Paul Thomas Anderson directs this movie to be not plot-driven (though there certainly is one), but instead by Daniel Day-Lewis' character, which allows the viewer to have an insight into him on a level you would think impossible for a film to give you. And the movie has a level of depth that makes you appreciate it even more when you watch it again and catch things you missed the time before. Also, the music is incredible.

Again, if you want to just have fun watching a movie, then you will want to find a different one, but for something deeper, this is a masterpiece that will go down in the ages.
