The Marvels (2023)
The Marvels 5.1/10
Alright think about this, character introduction of a hero, backstory of another hero, and the expansion arc of another hero, story of the villain, continuation for Young Avengers and the introduction of x-men all stuffed in a movie with a duration of 1.45 hours.
Yeah, that's literally the main problem. They tried to stuff in wayyy too much with too less time and they did not succeed. The character introduction is just fine, although we barely get explanation of her powers or anything.
Backstory of Carol, we couldn't care less. She is sad over what she did but we really don't care as we are not attached at all.
The only thing that worked was the arc of Ms Marvel and her being a superhero in a worldwide level, young avengers programme felt a little too forced.
Story of the villain just like carol's backstory, we couldn't care less. Its such a generic villain with absolute zero explanation. The heroes of the movie literally agreed a better way to do what she wanted and she didn't agree. Not that her plan was fool-proof. She literally died before she could do anything BECAUSE of her plan.
In short the movie was wayyy too short and too many storylines forced into one, Quantumania was wayyy better than this was. I don't get who the target audience is, like there are corny jokes added to situations where people are literally dying and so many forced jokes that are anything but not funny.
Im such a guy who defended marvel even after quantomania, but this is just awful. There is literally nothing to defend here, its plain obvious that its bad.
Personally, It just felt like some cgi short movie with beams going here and there no proper storyline or emotional connections. Even Kamala's parents felt forced to show how "Strict" they are.
12th Fail (2023)
12th Fail Movie Review
7.9/10
This is a movie about an IPS officer Manoj Kumar played by Vikrant Massey. His acting skills are commendable in this movie which does increase the movie's quality. The movie shows his struggles in becoming a IPS Officer considering he is from a small village.
We do feel emotionally attached with the character of Manoj, as it clearly shows the struggles and the final victory of the character.
The movie has a good screenplay and acting by the entire cast, we do feel heart touched during the scenes. The way the directed presented the story is pretty good.
No movies are without flaws, and this does have a couple of them.
The main issue of the movie is the pacing, certain scenes go on for wayyy to long than it needs to be and its gets tiresome in some point. Considering that it's a real life based movie, they should have included a little bit of drama to interest the audience.
A runtime of 2hrs and 28 mins is a little lengthy, and cutting out about 10 minutes would do no harm.
The predictability is also a major issue, it was very evident of how he would fail every exam until the very last attempt. A guy who was very focused In his studies, suddenly remembered his family's state and decided to work more and study less, that was so evident.
The final thing about stereotypical problem of how rich kids are always shown as everything is given to them in a silver platter. Even if it is, just showing it off so much in a movie more focused on the struggles felt a little ehh.
Like instead looking down at the privileged ones to glorify the poor based people, why don't they show both their struggles??
This movie is great considering how much trash and mass movies like Jawan - Pathaan is getting famous now, a movie like this is very much needed.
Leo (2023)
Leo
7.5/10
Actually a good movie and Vijay shows his talent in acting. But, its true that if you compare leo with other LCU movies, it's the weakest.
I have to talk about Vijay's acting in this movie, in all the other movies he was shown as a star, and he was given more importance. But in this movie, they show him as a emotional caring loving father and husband and Vijay does showcase all of these attributes in a really marvelous way.
Although the first part of the movie was slightly a bit slow, the writing was amazing, common Lokesh W.
And OMG THE CAFE SCENE>>>>> The fight choreography and the final scene of Vijay taking the revolver and shooting everyone in the head, Just. Too. Good. The café scene and then the final fight between Parthiban and Harold has to be the best scene.
THE SCENE WITH HYENA COMING OUT OF THE ROOM W.
The support characters like Trisha, Gautham, Mathew, Sanjay and Arjun were solid, and their delivery is just top notch. The only problem is that the antagonists, that is Sanjay Dutt and Arjun Sarja (Anthony Das and Harold Das, respectively) weren't fleshed out properly, especially Harold.
Now the music, Anirudh kinda missed in this movie if I'm being honest. Although he is the same guy that carried Jailer, this movie's music was kinda eh. Badass ma of course takes the spotlight and Naa Ready was alright and the dance moves were good too. And idk if its just me but I am not huge fan of the English score. Some parts the English song was good like to the ending where Vijay is trying to convince he is not Leo and over there the "Ordinary Person" is really good.
Another thing for the bgm is, during the market fight scene it was really poor. The scene was more of an action but still emotional, but the bgm fails to deliver the message.
My least favorite song in the soundtrack would be "Im scared" it seemed like a 12-year-old made the song.
Now let's go to the main problems,
The second half which includes the Backstory, omg was that so boring and lackluster. The backstory was so cliche, and pacing is bad too. Like they introduce Leo, the next second they introduce Elisa, the next second there is Anthony's superstition, and then the song. All of this happens so fast that you can't even register with the characters in an emotional way.
The cgi in the car chase scene, although the choreography is really good of Parthiban shooting and Napeleon reloading the gun was really good. But the entire scene is ruined by the cgi, you could see the visible disgust on my face while watching this scene cause it genuinely felt like some game's advertisement. If they had only put cgi for the cars it was alright, but even though they don't have good cgi, they made the background and the tree all cgi.
Although the connection with LCU didn't feel forced it maybe could have been done better, and maybe the movie would have been better if it stayed as a solo movie.
Even though the movie isn't as bad as the critics said, it could have been really better.
A Haunting in Venice (2023)
Haunting in Venice
6.8/10
Although this movie tried a mix of horror and mystery, its kidna like it failed in both aspects. The horror part isn't that scar (im not sure if its intended to be scary) and the mystery part isn't that exciting either.
In the past 2 movies whenever the main murder happens, we as audience have a curiosity on who killed the person. But in this movie a character that is disliked by many characters ends up dying, Ok and?
All the characters who die in the movie, one of them is disliked by majority of the cast and the next one is some random girl who died so long ago and then one random guy who always give the weird feeling.
This is the 3rd movie of a trilogy and so supposedly in every movie the great Hercule Poirot is going to "retire" and supposedly rejects every case, but then suddenly case comes up and he ends up solving it although he himself says like 10 times in the movie that he is going to retire.
And the 'friend' of Poirot in the movie always points it out too saying stuff like "Oh he was Hercule Poirot" to show how he was gonna retire.
Then the main thing that bothered me was the camera angles. Dutch angle is basically to create distortion or to show something is not right, but in this movie its used in every other scene that it loses its own motive
And then ofc the weird head shots which genuinely looks like those .5 pics we take.
The motion tracking of Poirot during the basement scene had no use, it seemed like the director wanted to experiment but he failed to do so in the right places.
I liked the first person pov shot to sell in the illusion of the hallway being really long.
The acting of the cast is really good and the kid actor who is supposed to act like the creepy kid really sells its.
Kenneth Branagh plays the character of Hercule Poirot really goddamn good.
Kantara (2022)
Kantara
7.9/10
Although the movie is good, I would like to state that this is a theatre film. As in, the make most out of this movie you have to see it in the theatre.
The best part of the movie is its audio including its bgm which elevate each scene into a whole different level.
The acting of Rishab Shetty who is also the director is commendable, his acting skills is really shown during the last act of the movie.
The movie is somewhat overhyped/overrated I would say, cause people act like this is the best movie they seen and its pure cinema. Although they usual masala elements aren't there, this movie could have been wayyy better.
If you think about it there are a couple of problems with the movie. One stupidity which is seen in almost every south Indian movie is its love aspect. Picture this, a guy somewhat assaults a girl and then offers a girl, and that's it the girl falls for the guy. That's literally what happens in the movie.
The shift of the plot, at the start of the movie its like a fantasy mystery movie with the demigod and all, but then suddenly it changes to the land ownership and the forest and suddenly to the fact of the landlord being evil.
The middle of the movie or the 2nd act of the movie could be slightly boring if not for the bgm. The second part also feels like from a complete different movie due to its sudden shift as there is no effect of the demigod or the culture of the people living there.
The entire movie the police officers speak with dread about the fact of the cultures of the people and its demigod. But to put into effect, they barely show anything.
I wish they spent a little more time in showing the character change of the landlord and the sudden change of relation between Shiva (Rishab) and the police officer.
The middle of the movie or the 2nd act of the movie could be slightly boring if not for the bgm. The second part also feels like from a complete different movie due to its sudden shift as there is no effect of the demigod or the culture of the people living there.
One thing I found confusing is, the demigod didn't chose an actual devotee of the demigod but rather a drunkard, trouble maker who is good for nothing. Plot Armor.
The director could have shown more of the demigod cause that's genuinely one of the best parts of the movie.
The quality of the action changes so frequently between the movie, cause sometimes its really good and sometimes it just a dark dusty area with like 10 cuts per minute.
The demigod part of the movie made it way more interesting and I hope in the next movie coming its shown more properly. Im not even kidding, if they had removed the demigod aspect, this movie would have been like every other meh movie.
I would recommend.
Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One (2023)
One of the best MI movies
7.6/10
a few problems are there starting is kinda predictable
Ilsa not being dead and is secretly alive, and ethan hunt wearing that fake mask was kinda predictable, but doesnt ruin the movie tho
there is something called "show not tell", but this movie disregards it. Like instead of simply telling how dangerous the bad guy is, if they showed what the bad guy could do, then it would have been wayy better
As a action movie, there has been only like 3 action sequences or sum
:-The car chase in venice (pretty funny actually)
Ethan Hunt riding the bike off the cliff
Alleyway fight scene (Can't really be counted)
The train fight between ethan and main bad guy (cant really be counted)
the train riding off a bridge
even the fight scenes are all so rusty like, you dont feel the thrill
mission impossible fallout, the fight scenes are pretty good and you can feel the excitement but in this one, its kinda boring and slow
I hate the way they killed off Ilsa, its so obvious that they just wanted to replace her with hayley atwell's character. Like atleast a better death would be nicer.
Literally 0 character development, like bro its not Ethan Hunt: Dead Reckoning Part One, its Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One, so like give importance to other characters, especially Luther and Benji the last thing i didnt like is that,
The entire plot is behind this one key. And this entire movie is like : this person has the key, now the other person and so on
now the good parts:
Hayley Atwell's character is pretty good, a little rude and eh in the start.
Like ethan risks his life saving her and then she betrays him
Car chase in Venice is actually pretty funny, like its a decent scene
The stunts is so W thats the best part of the movie
THE BAD GUY IS SO W NO JOKE
LIKE ITS ACTUALLY SMART, all the mi movies were normal people trynna destroy but this time they implemented the aspect of ai and how it could be really dangerous just W
mission impossible is one of the best franchises in hollywood, like its consistent, its not like of mi 3 was bad but mi 4 is good and mi 5 isnt good. All the mi movies are W.
Its storyline is just like john wick and fast and furious.
Like the plot lien is the same
John wick : every movie a bad guy group comes trynna kill him and john wins
F&F : bad guy threatens family, turns good and then fights main bad guy
MI: there is a mission its very impossible but successful in the end
But Mi is just so much better.

Sarpatta Parambarai (2021)
A solid movie
Cons:
This movie too as a cliche sport based movie has four stages- First Struggle and Training, Second Success and third is downfall and fourth is comeback. Only difference is about the politics (altho not shown except the coach getting arrested) and the mc not being of a high level person (i forgot the word for it)
It is a 3 hour movie and tbh there could be atleast 20 mins that could be cut. 20 mins does make a huge difference btw. It is somewhat boring especially condering the boxing scenes arent that entertaining (next point)
The boxing scenes, im not really sure cause like sometimes its good but sometimes it just feel so ugh. The commentators say that the punch is so powerful and blah blah, but us as audience cant feel the strength, but in other places we do feel that the punch is strong. But also sometimes it feels like the character just tapped his opponenet and blood is coming out.
The best caracter other than the mc has to be dancing rose, that fight was wayyy better than Vembulli (which is the main fight)
Arya is a good actor but falls off during the emotional scenes
The one scene that i did not like is the jail scene and especially where the skip time and do not inform the audience. The only way i figured that time passed is by looking at Arya's beard.
A person who was so dedicated to boxing suddenly shifts his mental state with no proper reasons
The first half is so good that you feel its gonna be different, but then the second half lets you down and becomes the normal movie
And the biggest thing that kinda struck to me is that a guy who has only practice by watching matches is somehow better than a boxer who is trained by the coach for a long time??
Pros:
Arya plays the role so good no joke, and he is also jacked af
The first half is so good, like story wise its really slow and i mean **really slow**, but omg the story is narrated is such way that you wont feel bored. I kid you not, once i realized how much time had passed by i had to pause the movie and like intake on how good the narration was
I did like the set design and really tells about the old times
As I said before, dancing rose was a W character and his boxing match with Kabilan was the best
The sparring with Raman and Kabilan was genuinely pretty W since its one of the first fights shown
The supporting actors, although I barely remember their names had such great screen presence. Even if it's the coach or his wife or his mom or Kevin (Daddy (That's what they call him)).
Although the cuts in the movie was sometimes mid, during the gangstar part of Kabilan, it was actually good.
Again, Arya's acting skills during his angry scenes were soooo good
The training montage and the utilization of the sea for training was a clever way. I liked how they showed us that Kabilan wanted to mend his ways and would do anything for it
Such a script to engage the audience in this way especially considering it's a 3 hour movie is genuinely brilliant.
Avengers: Endgame (2019)
Perfect ending for the infinity saga
Starting off, I would say that it is rewatchable as well as memorable.
True if you watch the movie there are a few plot hole - cause there's time travel in it - but the projects of marvel coming on will surely clear that out.
This could be.. I mean, This is one of the best superhero movies ever made!
What If...? (2021)
A really great marvel series
Although not all the episode are in the same level. This series show what the MCU formula is, Building to the huge finale. The animations are are really good and also the attention is details are min-blowing
Although it was memorable I don't think its rewatchable.
Saina (2021)
BORING!
First of all, this movie isn't at all memorable or even rewatchable.
It could have a been a little better if they were some tactics she used to win the final match. It feels like a normal movie and a bit of badminton matches.
The movie is really lackluster also and too many subplots
The people behind this movie should have really watch some Sports movies based on a true story, for example MS Dhoni : The untold story, Dangal, Chak De India, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.
Ojing-eo geim (2021)
Starts good, ends Horribly
I would recommend you guys to watch the series although there are some problems.
The first six episodes were really good and I was also amazed by the series, but starting from the 7 episode the series goes downhill too deep.
Although some might feel it's a cliffhanger ending its really not the old man being the host was kind of predictable and totally did not shock me.
And about the guy not entering the plane doesn't make sense to me at all.
