'Jeg nekter å tro det, en blindpassasjer...'

Warning: Spoilers
Blindpassasjer is a brilliant piece of sci-fi history, one that predates classics such as Alien and The Thing. One would think that Ridley Scott managed to get a hold of this series, somehow.

The set-design is astonishing. While it is pretty dated by modern standards, as spaceships today don't have 70s carpets and orange chairs, it helps the series and makes it stand out more. The ship models are impressive, considering the time and that it is a Norwegian production.

It wasn't necessarily the visuals that creeped me out as a kid, other than the foreign space ship and the farmers on Rossum. It was the music. Whoever was in charge of selecting the music; I congratulate you. It works perfectly and captures the sense of dread and almost nasty atmosphere you feel.

The planet Rossum itself is also a good plot-device. By filming the rural parts of Norway in black and white, and later adding a red filter over it, makes it look like an entirely different planet. The found footage-like recordings that Jason goes through is really creepy, especially the robot who suddenly turns his head around. I know several people who had nightmares about that scene when they where kids.

As I said before, this movie was very ahead of its time. It has elements from both Alien and The Thing, which this series predates. A 'shape-shifting' creature, in this series a 'biomat', who kills one of the crew and takes his place is straight out of The Thing.

Overall a great series that I think has stood the test of time. I will definitely show this to my kids, when that day comes.

'Har du det ikke lykkelig her?'

When I watched this for the first time, it was in class at school. I had to watch this for several hours, sitting on a hard wooden chair. The sun was glaring into the classroom, and you could barely even see anything on the projector.

So, whats my opinion on it? Its nothing special. The pacing is terrible. The movie drags on for too long. Two and a half hours of pure dialogue and bad acting, with nothing happening whatsoever. There are better ways to spend your time than watch this.

If it was shortened by a few hours, I think it would be alright enough. But as it stands right now, I wouldnt watch it again. Not in a hundred years. Maybe if they added a couple of guns...

'It is made of brick, like your brain'

Warning: Spoilers
I love this movie. The plot is genius and funny, the setting is perfect, and it has this special atmosphere for me no other movie has managed to capture.

The movie has three main plot lines that we follow and cut between, and it works seamlessly. A scene which perfectly captures this, is the one where the police has surrounded a house that Salazar supposedly is hiding inside of, only for the movie to cut to Salazar limping through the Montana wilderness with the Rocky Mountains in the background. The ending is also brilliant, with Salazar finally reaching the house and relaxing on the couch, only for the cops to show up a minute later and arrest him for crimes he didn't commit.

Ed O'Neil and Ruben Blades characters are hands down the funniest in the movie, but Gwynne and Bernsen also deliver good characters that I got invested in. You feel sorry for Salazar as the stumbles around in an anthill, and Max with his heart condition. William Russ also acts excellent, with his 'I want to be anywhere but here'-attitude. The scene where he's in court got a few laughs from me, with him trying to explain everything away in the dumbest of ways.

This movie has become a cult-film for me and my dad, who have watched it regularly for the last couple of years. I always put it on whenever I want something 'relaxing', and not the over-the top action you get with newer movies.

Overall a great movie that I wish got more popular.
