Sakla Beni (2023)
Good soundtrack and direction but the main couple has zero chemistry.
The side couple of Naz and kadir is the saving grace of this show. The two lead characters mete and incila only have good chemistry in the initial episodes. After that it's boring to watch them together. Incila is an extremely weak and confused character. On one hand she tolerates abuse from Naz on the other hand she can't stay away from Naz's husband mete. Mete is the worst character of the show. He is selfish, impulsive and a hypocrite. He treats Naz like trash, claims to love incila yet he can't take a stand for her.
Kadir is the best character of this show. He's funny, selfless and brave. While Naz is a pure psychopath the actress playing her does a great job. Naz and kadir are the only side couple I have seen who are more popular than the main couple.
The soundtrack, direction and the acting of the actors is what prevents the show from becoming boring.
Yali Çapkini (2022)
No romance just constant degradation of women
This show has a wonderful cast and it's soundtrack is great. The first eight episodes are fast paced and well directed. But that's all that's good about this show.
Firstly the series has not been marketed properly it's not a love story nor does it seem to be inspired from true events. It's a twisted tale of a young woman forced into marriage with a narcissistic man who has no respect for her. She for some strange reason falls in love with him.
In every episode the writer uses clichés and scenes copy pasted from other tv shows like adini Feriha koydum which makes it hard to believe it's inspired from true events. In every episode the male character cheats on the heroine or humiliates her. Yet she forgives him without a word of apology from him. Even after nineteen episodes the male character shows no signs of development. The makers of this show by trying to romanticise their relationship make everything appear even more ridiculous.
Besides the main characters almost every other female is a victim of abuse and almost every male character an abuser. It's frustrating seeing this amount of cruelty against women with not a single one able to stand up for herself. I am downgrading it to one star. There's not one single character who isn't violent towards women. Even the main character's best friend tries to strangle a woman in a fit of rage. This show should be banned .
Dickinson (2019)
Why make this about Emily Dickinson in the first place?
There's no evidence that Emily Dickinson wad lesbian or had woke sensibilities. Why not make a show about a fictional character instead when this is as far from Emily's real life as possible.
Meray Paas Tum Ho (2019)
Over rated and misogynistic
I wouldn't have given it even two stars had it not been for it's title song which is actually decent. The whole message of the show is that when a man cheats he deserves to be forgiven. Meanwhile if a woman does the same she should forever be punished. Also there are a number of illogical things shown. The main character makes money on the stock market and gets rich in an unrealistically short span of time. When he is in the operation theatre and dying the doctors let his son meet him. Where the hell does that happen? The man's heart stops beating but through some magical powers he continues to speak to his son . The ending was meant to be touching but due to it's medical inaccuracies it became hilarious.
Kalp Yarasi (2021)
Starts out great but loses it's charm
The first three episodes were great to watch even though there were tiny plot holes. By episode four however ayshe's character starts acting ridiculously. She keeps secrets from ferit and pushes him away when ever he tries to get close to her. She is literally the most unlikable female protagonist I have ever seen.
This ruins the romance of the story which frankly speaking is the main attraction of this show. Other wise we have all seen controlling mother in laws and psychotic exes at least a hundred times in other dramas. Also most of the people who have given it high ratings are those who haven't seen all of the episodes.
Yasak Elma (2018)
Inconsistent characters
The characters keep changing personalities just so that the writer can stretch the drama. Yildiz is apparently the protagonist of the show but she behaves like a total villain in the first two episodes by betraying Ender. Ender is initially depicted as a strong woman who is trying to survive on her own but in order to make us sympathise with Yildiz she is turned into a revenge obsessed psycho. The same goes for Halit who at times comes off as a caring and forgiving husband to Yildiz then suddenly he becomes a bad husband. It's like the script writer doesn't know who's the villain and who the protagonist of this story is .
