Drag Race Philippines: Grand Opening Part 2 (2023)
Season 2, Episode 2
10/10
Here for the drama
10 August 2023
This episode somehow reminds me of the wedding gown design challenge from US Season 2. These queens are not bothered to shade and come for each other and that's literally what we are losing from the recent seasons of the franchise. I can say that Drag Race Philippines really knows their assignment when it comes to casting because these queens are hella entertaining but still their sound design could use a lot of work. All in all, performance aside, I can that this group of queens is a lot stronger than the first half of the cast in terms of looks and personalities. I cannot wait to see the chaos that will ensue on the next episode once they all meet.

Drag Race Philippines: Mabu-Heeey! (2022)
Season 1, Episode 1

Exceeded my expectations.
19 August 2022
As an actual Filipino fan, I definitely do have some sort of expectation towards the franchise already before it even announce its cast and I was really blown away by this premiere. The queens have such an outstanding personalities that it literally draws you in so easily. I also love how they technically know or at least are familiar with each other. I honestly think that it would be the biggest strength of this season compared to the other franchises because our different drag scenes here in the Philippines have such tight relationships with each other. And honestly, I think it is what lacking from the other franchises especially with the US with the recent seasons - that feeling of authenticity and genuine storylines that the queens produce because they already have history and connections with each other even prior to the show, i.e. As to what we have seen with the Marina vs Xilhouete fiasco. And this is for sure the heavy reason as well to why DRPH would need a separate Untuck for all the drama to have its own show. Definitely this season is already on a good start for being the definition of reality TV gold. For criticisms, obviously the camera work and lighting could definitely do some revamp for a better watching experience but considering how this is the first season for us and probably having a smaller budget than other franchises especially from first world countries, I couldn't whine more. Aside from that, I could also just nitpick how short the allotted time is for the queens to do their numbers since some of them really do suffered from that restriction. But all in all, including how good the judging was as well, I am very enthralled with this premiere. Definitely, mabuhay Drag Race Philippines!

What We Needed
3 December 2021
Considering that we had so much seasons of Drag Race this year and most of them are heavily filled with gags and drama, I think this is the episode that we all needed. This season, in my opinion, was conceived after the controversial first season of Canada. It was like the production totally saw what they did wrong on the previous season and turned it to something that this season will be remembered for. Season 2 is filled with emotions and vulnerability and this episode was the cherry on top. The way they conceptualize these runways too are topnotch and today's challenge is no exception. They took a subject that most of us, queer audience, could relate to and let us relive those moments whether it is good or bad thru the teen guests. Totally loved this episode from start to finish, the only thing that I could wish for is a double shantay but we all know that such things only happen to fulfill their required number of episodes and I think the right queen stayed.

Canada's Drag Race: The Sinner's Ball (2021)

THRILLED
19 November 2021
This episode was a complete perfection from start to finish. I really enjoyed the mini-challenge and I think that it should be something to be done on other seasons. The ball itself was just so cleverly conceived, the themes are sickening and the queens really brought it. I think the right winner was chosen based on the challenge itself but kudos to the production team for highlighting such an important part of the runway from another queen. Lastly, that lipsync was so great, both queens brought it and what makes it even more exciting is due to their storylines. Canada is really bringing it this season.

Great Concepts So Far
29 October 2021
I was really afraid of how the challenge is going to turn out since acting challenges on Drag Race has been a total trainwreck on recent seasons but I must say that whoever created the script for this episode knows how to write with a good concept. And the total cherry on top is the queen who made a cameo appearance on the challenge itself. Also, this season's runways has been consistently good. I think the judging was also fair and that lipsync was very fun to watch as well even though the queen who got eliminated was gone so soon, it could be a double shantay tbh. However, I just hope that the other fans won't give this episode such a low rating since the recent eliminated queens on UK are fan favorites as well.

Stellar Premiere
16 October 2021
The cast is a goddamn home run. Diversity, check. Talent, check. Personalities, check. The judges are also promising this time around and they really have some good and helpful critiques. The early brewing drama between the queens are also very enticing. I hope that the season is going to be this consistent because I would be pissed if such an amazing cast will be gone to waste because of production's fault.

Great Episode Overall
12 August 2021
The concept of the design challenge was entertaining and we get to see the queens' create their own character. The lipsync was the biggest flaw and I personally think that there are a lot of Charli song that the viewers would want to see be performed rather than Boom Clap. However, the climactic buildup at the end before the game within a game was perfect.
