Astonishing TV. Brilliant suspense and acting, and Sarah Lund is mesmerising and her character a wonderful artistic achievement. Her obsession with justice is utterly compelling. All three series are addictive viewing, but the first is exceptional for its involvement in the grief of the victim's family, with just sublime acting performances. Some may find there is too much politics, but the Nordics seem to like that and I was fine with it. After all, nobody should be surprised if politicians find themselves as suspects! I bought "The Killing" three years ago and have just watched it all a second time with equal pleasure to the first. Stands comparison with anything else in the genre, and in many ways is unique. The plot is very complicated and if you are very picky there are some unexplained things, but these only matter if you do a surgical dissection of the plot after watching! Bottom line? Those Danes are awesome: this is a stunning follow up to "Borgen", and I just LOVE Sarah Lund!
