The End We Start From (2023)
Jodie Comer is incredible talent
I focused solely on Jodie Comer's character and what she went through to save herself and her baby during a horrible disaster.
Jodie soaks in whatever role she plays and leaves us speechless at how she transforms herself into that character. She shows us by her actions what a mother is capable of doing in order to try and save herself and her baby during a disaster. This independent film had its flaws but its main theme, survival, shines through on every level. Jodie's facial expressions throughout this film eloquently tells the story of anguish, fright, and an inner strength a mother doesn't know she has until she is fighting for her and her baby's life. This film is going to Netflix and I look forward to watching it again.
The Possession of Hannah Grace (2018)
Nailbiter
I am not a huge fan of horror but I liked this film. I think the budget was very limited but the script and direction were both on point. And, it is always a plus when Stana Katic is an important player because she elevates any production.
For Lovers Only (2011)
Creative - Emotional - Heartfelt
I just finished watching this film and I was blown away by every aspect of it -- script; improvisations; direction; photography; editing; ovet-the-top acting by Stana Katic and Mark Polish; scenery; and score.
What astounds me even more is that this film was produced on an almost zero budget and shot in under two weeks.
This was a master class in filmmaking.
Bravo and brava to everyone who participated in making this story come to life.
Will we see a sequel?
