Re-Animator Resurrectus (2007)
Must-see for any fan!
This documentary provides a deep look into the making of the first movie of the trilogy. Main actors and the director tell us how they came up with the idea for the movie, how and where the movie was filmed, and many other things, for example, why they went to a local morgue before the start of filming. Actors share their thoughts on the whole idea of re-animation and show us some interesting behind-the-scenes footage.
If you like the trilogy, this documentary is a must-see!
I agree with the previous reviewer, the Re-Animator needs a documentary much longer than that. There are so many things to show and stories to tell.
Beyond Re-Animator (2003)
Weak plot, flat jokes... But Jeffrey Combs is great (as always)
It's definitely not the worst movie I've seen, but... The plot is rather weak at times. For example, what is the motivation of dr Phillips? Why would he want to help someone who is sort of 'guilty' of his sister's death? (well, guilty is not the right word, but you get the idea). Why are cops so stupid? And I don't even mention giving-head scenes and stupid idea of 'Go for it!!!'
The beginning of the movie was quite promising though, I wish there'd been a decent plot so that the movie could become something great, just like the previous 2 parts.
I watched this movie only because I'm really into the whole Re-animator fandom and a big fan of Jeffrey Combs and everything he's doing. Here he acts nice.
So, 6 out of 10, only for Jeff.
Cannibal Holocaust (1980)
Definitely should be banned
There's nothing scary, nothing 'horror'. Gross, just gross. If you feel ok watching scenes of gang rape, go see your doctor. And I'm not even mentioning animal killings, violence and other things. It just makes me vomit, and I'm a really experienced horror watcher.
But I really wonder who the real cannibals are - those tribal people or journalists who just want to drain money from other people's (and animals) sufferings.
