The White Lotus (2021)
I am confused in the hype
I really tried with this. I really don't give 1 star ratings but this is the worst show I have ever watched. Jennifer Coolidge I always love but even her character, I just couldn't. Every character is so neurotic and extremely unlikable & people have a weird sense of humor if this is written as a comedy. I felt like I needed anti-anxiety meds after watching this show, not once did I laugh. I really don't understand why this was considered a good show, even with a garbage year of television & movies, that still doesn't explain it. I also was grossed out like I never have been watching anything before in my life with that scene with the suitcase; threw up in my mouth a little grossed out. I will not be watching season 2 & actually regret watching the entire first season.
The Dropout (2022)
Before watching Dropout never heard of Elizabeth Holmes
I had no idea who Elizabeth Holmes was, I seen her name in headlines when scrolling on my news app but I honestly thought she was a kidnapping survivor, it must be because she's blond because I thought the same thing about Amanda Knox until I saw clearwater. So in a way I am glad for that because the show could be real life accurate or totally different and wouldn't know either way. So when watching the show I am not hung up on how good the actors are portraying their real-life counterparts and get to enjoy it for what it is. It's quirky with a lot of weirdos (The Neighbor, Noel, Sunny & Elizabeth) but it's surprisingly fascinating and I kind of excited for the next (4th) episode to air. I'd like to believe that's because of the story and the actor's performances and not that because I am fascinated by Sociopaths. After the last episode I googled Elizabeth Holmes because I was confused by Amanda's sudden frog voice and how odd her character was, so now I know the basics and that this is not going to be a feel-good type of ending.
It is certainly not my favorite show but it is pretty addicting and I'm looking forward to watching the entire season.
And Just Like That... (2021)
And Just Like That......
And Just Like That......they got rid of the two best characters on the show. Big had charm for days and Sam well...was just the best to watch.
The remaining OG characters.... Charlotte is so gross, cringe and unlikeable, Stanford is absolutely the WORST! (RIP Willie 😢) And they just did him wrong! It's pretty bad when Anthony is the more likable and respectful of the two! (Offering the secretary his seat after his awful husband)
Carrie is still cringe but less annoying but we're only 2 episodes in and I'm certain she'll be back in full eye-roll mode shortly. I do not miss those nonsensical voiceovers tho. Miranda is just so cringe and hard to watch when she interacts with black people apparently. It is extremely awkward.
The podcast is so sooooo unnecessary and such a terrible element. Why do they have to butch up Sara Ramirez in this story and make her a pot smoking non binary "bouncer" sharing her vape pen with children?
Overall, I had extremely low expectations before watching so at least I had that going for me and honestly as long as I pretend that the OG SATC show never happened, I can watch and not be enraged at the terrible concept, awful writing, bad decisions with beloved (and formerly loved) characters, wokeness for wokeness sake and nothing else, probably because nothing else is on TV at the moment and new content I do appreciate. Also, Kristin Davis botched plastic surgery just kinda gives me Batman Joker vibes.
Overall this this is a small sliver of what the OG SATC's former self. Kim Cattrall probably did her career a favor by passing on this, I would have too if I had read this script.
The Equalizer (2021)
Female spy shows=my fav
I love this show! I love Queen Latifah and Chris Noth together! Please keep the seasons coming ABC, one of two network shows I watch & I know how ABC likes to put non bachelor & non shonda shows on the chopping block.
He's All That (2021)
The REAL Movie Stars had to step in and promote this for the kiddos.
It's a cute little movie to watch. There's a lot of things they did wrong and I feel bad for the actor that plays Cameron who had to try and force chemistry with a lead who has no clue what's she's doing and to have to carry the movie. The scene that displayed acting like I have never ever seen in my life is after the Cameron makeover & before the reveal. Literally the lead "actress"/not an actress must of read the script's notes: "Cameron enters room and his handsome face takes Padge's breath away." In that scene she is literally panting when she see Cameron's newfound hotness. To be fair, my pug pants real hard like that when I come out of the bathroom too. I thought maybe I missed a scene where she was doing aerobics for a bit before he came out of the bathroom but no, that's just how she played it.. Interesting interpretation I guess.
Then a Kardashian shows up. Doesn't even matter which one, they are all the literal worst.
Like, why Netflix? Why do you hate us?
Rachael Leigh Cook and the 2 minutes of Matthew Lillard was Netflix's apology to the viewer's for the rest of the film.
I could watch those two in anything.
They really should of just done a geriatric remake and brought back Freddy and they could of just read lines from the original movie. I'd be in for that.
Also, laughing at the reviews that say she did a good job because it's her first movie....literally.... PANTING!!!
4 Stars because Rachael, Matthew, Tanner and the horse.
