What a day!
1 January 2011
What a hotchpotch of artists in this line-up! Tears for Fears kicked things off at Mid-day followed by worldwide superstars such as Pink Floyd, Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton and Plant & Page (on stage together for the first time in a while, I think)down to the likes of Cliff Richard and Status Quo. Enduring memories? - Cliff Richard's Fuchia Pink suite & Eric Clapton's so cool pale pink number; singing along to Hey Jude and call and response with Ray Cooper in Sunshine of Your Love; fortunately having one more dry tee shirt than the two (or three?) rain showers on the day; the Pink Floyd cutting down their projection screen because of the wind, their laser show through the rain and fireworks finale. Rumours of Queen's involvement did not prove true but what a roster and what an experience. I so wish I hadn't mislaid my T shirt for this one.

Thanks Air Canada
26 March 2007
I had nowhere to go. I was on a flight to Vancouver. I would probably have missed this film if I hadn't chosen Air Canada. Watched on a small screen in the back of the seat in front, I found this captivating and mesmerising. I did drift in a couple of places and had to skip back but I had to watch to it's end. Now I'm looking forward to the DVD release in Europe though whether I'll be quite as transfixed when I can walk out the door, is yet to be discovered!

The photographic composition is stunning and the film gives so much insight and 'fills out' the story the photographs tell.

Recommended (if you have time on your hands).

Very original homage
28 February 2005
What a film! The story twists and turns and strikes quicker than a cobra. You won't find references to Star Wars and Lord of the Rings here - you'll have to watch The Magic Roundabout for that. But it is a wonderful homage to David Carrafine's kung fu. It seems the film was written for him but there are brilliant performances from all the leads. "I must warn you young lady that I am susceptible to flattery" is delivered with dripping lasciviousness. The characters are alternative in my book - witness the assassin who meekly obeys a tart and the child who goes to sleep watching murder movies. They all create tensions, right, left and centre that are suddenly released in an almost unclimactic way. Twice as good as KB1 but couldn't have been, without it.

Sharp soundtrack
23 September 2001
A favourite film. Conjures up questions in it's portrayal of press photographer stepping beyond reporting. Beautifully filmed but the real hook is the atmospheric soundtrack. Sharp! Just want to go to Nicruagua to hear these stunning sounds and see that lovely country.
