The Dark Knight (2008)
Amazing movie.
It definitely EXCEEDED ALL of my expectations. It goes further than a typical Batman movie, and a huge improvement over the first one. Digs deep into the human psyche, reference to terror, government, psychology, and leaves us with many thoughts and conversations once the movie is done. Heath Ledger played his role of the Joker amazingly extremely well, and brings out the sinister, yet joking, scary side that Joker's supposed to be. Christopher Nolan is an amazing director, and it's sad that Heath Ledger cannot appear for a third installment. There isn't a clear bad, good guy, and the complex issue of human character and how each character brings it out is commendable. Definitely the best movie of the summer, and perhaps the first greatest movie since 2008 started. This movie's intense, packed, and makes you sit on the edge of your seat, and to get it is needed to watch more than once. I recommend for everyone to go see it!
Ha-Alufa (2006)
This is a very interesting (addicting show..)
Okay, first of all, two hot men to look at. Beyond this, you get in touch with characters, and the story line really develops. First season is terrific, as the person above has explained. If I could, I'd translate it to English ,because themes in this telenovela are universal. Second season starts a bit out of the blue with some lovable characters going away, but the new cast I warmed up to them after a few episodes, while I would definitely from far away from what so far this early in the season doesn't seem better than last season, it's unique and different and still holds the magic and re exploring the marriage that fell apart last season, and the same characters that you can relate to, and explore what's going on with them.
My favorite telenovela, and so addicting. It's great.
Ha-Kochavim Shel Shlomi (2003)
One of the best movies...
One of my favorite movies of all times, have seen it three times already. It does a great job of summing up the Isrelai walks of life, Israeli humor, and seriousness, and much of the problems Israelis go through. Universal theme of wanting to be accepted, and be accepted for who you are. Good subtle humor, and it's the charisma of the characters, that makes this movie magic, and says a lot about Isrlaei culture, and the irnonicness, contradictions, and humor, with a great actor in it, Oshri Cohen. I highly recommend it to anyone, and it's a movie perfect for practically anyone, family movie, boyfriend/girlfriend movie, and also says apart from Israeli culture, wanting to be accepted, most of all, how important family is, with all its diversity and imperfections.
Great great movie.
The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
Excellent film!
One of my favorite films, I saw it awhile ago, and this film holds special magic that took away the day I watched it any bad feeling or anything I felt about that day. Story about humankind above all, and friendships, and the power of people believing in you, in a yet real way and not too cheesy way, that leaves you with a great taste in the mouth, and charisma of the two characters is excellent. The plot seemed a little far fetched first, but again, character development and power of human behavior is what makes this film so great. THere's something that strikes you to the emotion, and some simplicity in the film as well, that the moral and theme is, enjoy life, and don't forget those that are dear for you.
The Holiday (2006)
Great...
I'm not much for romantic comedies. In any case, put Kate Winslet and Kirsten Dunst, and I'll want to watch it. The plot seems a little too simple for me, and one of those romantic comedies, that are out there, but characters were so cute, and you can't help but cheer on both women, I warmed up more to Kate Winslet's character. A good movie to enjoy if you want a relaxed night in, and a movie that will make you feel warm, and is good to watch. However, I'll still categorize it as for a romantic comedy more for women, and can't imagine a guy watching it. But one of the more interesting romantic comedies, and the characters, espiecially Kirsten Dunst, is not like typical character at a romantic comedy, it was a nice change to still see. The ending was great.
