Doctor Who (1996)
My Doctor
growing up as a child in the 90's i along with many others were deprived from there own doctor unlike our parents and grand parents my only contact with WHO was watching old video tapes of Pertwee and Baker, thought i loved and appreciate them i felt i was missing out. and then along came Paul Mcgann and his doctor. sure he only did one TV movie, but to me as a 8 year old child i was gripped.
lets not fool ourselves here, it wasn't no where near perfect, looking back on it now, but to me Mcgann was everything i thought the doctor should be, funny, charismatic, intelligent, demeaning and to me it was an awful shame a series for his doctor did not come along, but since 1997 i brought all his doctors audio tapes, graphic novels and even a poster.
Eric Roberts was passable as the master, sure he wasn't Robert Dalgado or Anthoney Ainley but he was passable as a one off. Grace wasn't actually a bad assistant and i didn't find her irritating, she kept the doctor on his toes which i did like.
The Tardis interior i found outstanding, it was very Victorian which went spot on with Mcgann and Mccoy to some extent who along with Mcgann is a very under rated doctor.
overall i must say that even thought its not the best story ever told i really enjoyed it, Paul Mcgann will always be my doctor no matter who plays the character in the future(Tennant has nothing on Mcgann)
Doctor Who (2005)
A Fantastic British Show Has Regenerated into the 21st Century
I've always been a huge doctor who fan. as an 18 year old i grew up with PAUL MCGANNS sole appearance as the doctor (though he is my favourite) i grew up watching the repeats of Pertwee's, Baker's and Davisons adventures which I loved.
When they brought it back i was excited Christopher Ecclestone was a fantastic doctor i loved each episode and was utterly saddened when he left because i would have loved to see him go up against my favourite villains....THE CYBERMEN.
I liked Tennant as the doctor he added a new dimension to the character. and is throughly entertaining at times. I only have two problems with the show though... firstly i couldn't stand BILLIE PIPER i couldn't stand her character ROSE really really irritated me and i was glad when she left, i loved Martha thought she was more tolerable than miss Piper. my second problem is the writing during the last two series the writing has lacked the dark edge that the original series had
yes i know the show is aimed at kids but so was the original show and that still had some dark evil moments produced by davros, the daleks or the cybermen.
but other than not a fantastic show that has become a huge success story again.
love live THE DOCTOR
NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service (2003)
What A Show
O man I love this show I first watched it at the beginning of SERIES 2, it was Saturday and I wasn't going out anywhere, so I was flicking through the channels and i caught a glimpse of PAULEY PERRETTE'S character ABBY and i was like OMG she's so gorgeous and i watched it for the entire episode and became a devote fan, I have all the DVD's. its such a great show my friends constantly think its something like CSI rip off. and convinced that it is, and its silly because its such a great entertaining show. every character is likable from GIBBS, DUCKY, MCGEE, KATLIN(RIP), ZIVA and my two favourites ABBY & Denozo. thats one of the better things about this show, every character is likable and basically you got to watch the show yourself.
Halloween (2007)
Why All The Hate?
I'm not a fan of ROB ZOMBIES FILMS, i prefer his music with WHITE ZOMBIE and his solo stuff. BUT! I am a die hard fan of the HALLOWEEN films. i've seen them all and love them all ( thought h20 and resurrection sucked major league ass). I liked this film.
Yes this film is basically a shot for shot remake of the original but also by adding in an interesting back story which was good but it suddenly seemed rushed. my only problem was that there wasn't really a connection between Myers and Dr. Loomis when Michael escaped and Loomis caught up with him it didn't seem to gel.
the casting was brilliant I loved MALCOLM MCDOWEL in his role, certainly lived up to the greatness of DONALD PLEASANCE. and Sheri Moon did remarkably well and even looked kind of hot in all fairness.
yes I'm fully aware this didn't live up to the greatness of the original. the first was scary and disturbing this wasn't quite the case. but it wasn't a bad film, I enjoyed watching watching it and thats basically what i look for when i go to the cinema's * A film that i will enjoy*
so watch it before you give it a bashing.
Batman & Robin (1997)
What A Pain In The Ice...
How Ironic that wasn't one of the lines Arnie Had To Say in This Film.
Batman & Robin was the first film I ever saw at the cinema's and back then( i was only about 7) i thought it was the greatest film since Batman Forever( remember i was only 7) but now looking back on it....I really did waste my(parents) money i'll start with the casting.
George Clooney - we know why he was picked for Batman...for the ladies, and in all fairness he played the Bruce Wayne part exceptionally well... just was a shame that his Batman was very mis-cast. he wasn't dark, gloomy or brooding.
Chris O'Donnel(sorry for bad spelling)- in the comics Dick Grayson was loyal to Bruce Wayne/Batman and admired him but in this film he basically comes across as a spoiled Brat.
Uma Thurman - as Poison Ivy....DAMN!. But her over acting takes away how Sexy she looked in the Green catsuit.
Arnie- now this movie was only watchable because of Arnie and his classic one liners but other than that awful film.(did you know Hulk Hogan was Joel Schumaccers third choice for Mr Freeze?) Batgirl sucked isn't even worth going into how bad she was...But on a positive note she did look kinda hot as Batgirl.
Joel Scumaccer shouldn't even be allowed to make films i know people say this a million times but NIPPLES ON THE BATSUIT wtf anyways its not a bad film to watch when its late at night and you and your friends have had a few drinks....so sit back, knock back a few beers and watch one of the worst movies ever.
WCW Starrcade 1997 (1997)
Sting Triumphs Over NWO
Starcade 97* sting wrestles Hollywood hogan in the most anticipated match of the 90's and for me a pure wrestling fan it did not disappoint. sting obviously came over as the challenger who would not quit while hogan playing the baddie came across as the coward who would do anything t retain the title. But sting over comes the odds to became WCW and a mass celebration occurs after his victory stings entrance is also amazing WCW really put him over as A GOTH trying to turn sting into a WCW version of the UNDERTAKER which was amazing. taking nothing away from sting.LONG LIVE THE STINGER
the rest of this event was mostly all hyped up about the main event with the rest of the matches basically taking up the space needed to make a payperview
