Little Women (2019)
10/10
An excellent, poignant adaptation, with outstanding cast
17 July 2020
A movie about four sisters navigating early womanhood in 19th century America might seem irrelevant to present day audience, but this adaptation managed to fully capture my attention and left me wanting to re-watch it after I finished it, and this is coming from a non-American male millennial. This is a testament to how brilliant the cast of this movie were, and how Greta managed to create something rare. Saoirse Ronan was born for Jo's role, and Florence did great as Amy, the evolution of the relation between Jo and Amy, and Jo's internal and societal struggles felt so real. Highly enjoyable movie for all audience.

A very engaging series with brilliant performances
31 December 2019
I was waiting for something like this for a long time, this is a very well crafted show, there is a lot of chemistry between the different characters, everyone fits their role very well, they created an intriguing and at the same time warm atmosphere. Just see the pilot and if you get hooked like me, you won't be able to put it down.

The Walk (II) (2015)
10/10
A superbly made emotional movie
21 December 2015
This movie surely exceeded my expectations, let me start by saying this is one of the best well-made movies I have seen this year. The technique, cinematography, music, ... are all top notch. Most of us already know the story, and some of us saw other movies about the same man, but this one definitely has the highest production values. What I like most about "The Walk" is what I think differentiates it from the other movies, you feel the importance and grandeur of the twin towers, for a moment there you feel they are the stars of the movie, an integral part of the story that Robert Zemeckis did a great job capturing their character and presence. I felt this movie was more of a tribute to the towers than of Philip's, it sheds a different light on the walk that will give you a warm feeling by the end. You realize that they weren't just any two buildings, they attracted a young man from across the Atlantic and changed his life forever.

A heartfelt movie with a beautiful message
3 November 2010
There are a lot of excellent reviews out there, I will just discuss a single point. What got to me the most in this movie is the message I got out of it, I got it from a single line uttered by the hero and it just burned in my memory, it's about how when we look deep in the eyes of our enemies -the ones we fear the most- we will see that they are afraid of us just as we are afraid of them, we might realize their humanity and that they are not what we thought, monsters.

This is definitely one of the best 2 animation movies this year, with Toy Story 3 being the other one, tough job for the academy awards this year, and hope this is the case every year.

It's nice to see beautiful animation movies challenging Pixar's, it definitely benefits the viewer the most. How to train your dragon - Highly Recommended.

The Wolfman (2010)
6/10
Read before you decide
4 July 2010
This movie had the chance to be one of the best werewolf movies ever but it falls short and here is why. The great thing about this movie is its direction and cinematography, the atmosphere is filled with suspense and intrigue, the score adds well to the situation, and we have some nice chilling scenes, but that's all we get, the movie isn't emotionally engaging, you have no sympathy with the characters, at any point in the movie ask yourself this question, would I care if any of these people die? the answer is always No. The dialogue is weak and they use very short sentences, they didn't give a chance to the actors and actresses to shine, and the characters are truly linear and the plot is very predictable. All in all, this movie is all style with no substance, so if you are in the mood for something like that, or if you are one of those people who can appreciate great cinematography and artful direction without regard to the characters and plot, you will like it, otherwise you won't miss much.

Avatar (2009)
10/10
Mesmerizing, Don't forget to breathe
15 January 2010
I've been waiting for Avatar for a really long time, During the long wait my expectations changes a lot, at first, I thought it would be a masterpiece on all levels, but then after the first trailer was released and all the negative attitude towards it, I became skeptical and thought maybe the long wait was for nothing, I am glad I was wrong, Avatar was truly groundbreaking and here is why:

An enthralling environment is set up, with amazing attention to details, Some scenes are truly hypnotizing, Although the plot is not the most original and sort of predictable, it's still very interesting. Emotionally engaging, you care about the characters, I have never felt so much empathy towards aliens living on a distant planet, that is the genius of the movie to put you in the aliens' shoes even when they don't wear any shoes :) I don't really know what to say about the cinematography and CGI, It's bound for an Oscar, no words can describe it, you'd have to see it for yourself. Although Avatar is a little under 3 hours , it leaves you wanting more, I hope we don't have to wait so much for the sequel, and also I expect it to have a more original plot.

Pushing Daisies (2007–2009)
10/10
An excellent show that doesn't deserve to be cancelled
9 December 2008
Pushing Daisies is one of the best series on TV for the time being, and what makes it so good is the great cast where everybody fits his/her role perfectly, delivering great natural performances. Great script without clichés. Fresh story for each episode with unpredictable plots, likable characters make you care and have some sort of empathy towards them. Each character has an important role in the plot, Great narrating with memorable quotes (i.e. and the facts were these), funny moments that appear natural without trying too hard. A surreal world with attention to details is set up which adds to magical atmosphere of the show. Excellent directing with beautiful scenery.

I am disappointed that Pushing Daisies is cancelled, and wish to see more shows with fresh ideas like this one.

Good news for "Heroes", I just heard Bryan Fuller -The Creator of Pushing Daises- is returning back to Heroes, as he demonstrated his creative abilities here.
