Star Trek: Generations (1994)
Brilliant, fun Trek movie!
Star Trek: Generations is the first of 4 Star Trek movies starring the crew of The Next Generation. It also stars a few familiar faces from the past, such as Scotty, Chekov, and even good ole' Captain Kirk! In my opinion, most of the movie is very enjoyable. It follows a slightly different style than TNG did, but it's defiantely as good. Data finally inserts that emotion chip he got from his creator, but soon encounters problems with it. Dr. Tolian Soran is a great villain, and poses a great threat as many Star Trek enemies do.
Pros
Tense, exciting storyline - Brilliant, extremely tense scene where the Enterprise D is destroyed and the saucer section crashes on a planet's surface - The characters haven't changed a bit! - It's Star Trek! :D
Cons
For some odd reason, the colours of the character's uniforms keep inverting throughout the movie - The sets have changed slightly, the bridge being most noticeable (the adding of science decks on the port and starboard of the bridge, and stairs just behind the helm) - Kirk doesn't die in the best of ways...but in the long run, he did die honourably. - The story repeats elements of Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (most notably the scene where the Enterprise D destroys the Klingon Bird of Prey, and Picard getting trapped on the planet then inside the Nexus, like Kirk and McCoy did on Rurapente).
Despite the thorns in its' side, it's still an excellent movie and is very much underrated. A must see, not just for Trek fans, but anyone looking for some good sci-fi action!
Only Fools and Horses: Sleepless in Peckham...! (2003)
A nice, sweet ending to a legendary TV show
Only Fools and Horses: Sleepless in Peckham definitely finishes the series off well. It ties up the major loose ends left by the series and brings together a feeling of warmth. Despite the fact that the actors such as David Jason and Nick Lyndhurst got a bit old, the show never lost its comedy touch (albeit I cant say they live up to the older episodes). It's nice that Rodney and Cassandra finally have the baby they always wanted, and the legend of Freddie the Frog was finally concluded. Overall, it's a happy ending :D Definitely a must see for any OFAH fan. From young, curious Granville all the way to ex-millionaire Del Boy Trotter. Lovely Jubbly!
Body Image: F*** Off I'm Ginger (2007)
Great documentary; deserves a lot more recognition
The thing about this documentary is that what it's trying to get across is extremely worthwhile and just isn't understood by all you stupid ginger-haters out there, however the program doesn't seem to get it into our heads too well, depending on what type of person you are. I'm not writing this on how I reacted to it; my best friend is ginger and I know how it is to be amongst teenagers and have ginger hair. It's very painful, and it shouldn't be, as proved by this program. If you don't like ginger people and you even have an inch of decency, you'd watch this. If I could change this, I'd make it a little more full-on towards getting its ideas across, instead of just boringly taking us and Dan Wright half way around England to ask a 16 year old blonde girl why ginger hair is such a put-off... It's just a hair colour, guys, get over it! :O
Metal Gear Solid (1998)
A great 3D PS1 adventure!
Wow, I have to say that MGS is probably one of the best games on the PS1, along with others like Spyro and Crash. Exciting and challenging game play, lots of things to find, quite a few gags, the list goes on! I know lots of people who think that it's a rubbish game as the graphics don't live up to some other PS1 games, but MGS was made in 1998, a time when technology wasn't all that...and they even had to develop the game on 2 discs, as it was so big. It's definitely worth the money, and if you're a newcomer to the MGS games, play this before MGS2 and 3. This game is certainly 9 out of 10 material, as it could possibly have done with a few improvements, like getting rid of a little bit of repetition.
