Belongs in the "Can" that you Flush

J.R. Digs is awful, I'm still trying to figure out if he has photographic evidence that the owner of Global TV murdered a child, or if he is that person's son, or if he has mob connections, or if he simply has a gun that he threatens the people at Global TV with. Those are the only possible explanations I can come up with for why this man was allowed to go on TV with his "show" that he clearly pays ad time to air on their station. The single Coors Light ad I saw during tonight's typically terrible episode can not have paid for the airing of this half hour "show" by itself so perhaps J.R. Digs is one of those born wealthy individuals who has nothing better to waste his money on than air time so he can make this pitiful attempt at producing his own "TV show". I use quotes because this "show" clearly does not qualify as a real television program. The writing is terrible and he is a worse host than a bag of potatoes would be. Tonight's episode can be summed up like this--terrible host does terrible jokes, bad special effects of them driving around in cars and their van that they hope will be seen as funny but that is actually just clearly showing they can only make terrible visual effects--talk to a man on the street who clearly wants them to leave him alone with no funny results at all--put on a sailor hat that the host obviously thinks makes him automatically funny and sing a song for the "studio audience" about how he talked to a kid selling meat, then show video clip of him standing in meat section of a grocery store next to an unimpressed student employee, add in sound effects of JR Digs farting, back to sailor hat wearing JR Digs for no funny remarks, studio audience shows no indication they have actually watched the video or have a pulse--more bad effects of a "van crash"--jokes all fall flat just like every comment the useless host makes. This show is garbage, hopefully soon he runs out of money so he can't ever air this travesty on TV again.

The JR DIGS Show (2001– )

This High School Student Video Project Should Not be on TV
12 September 2010
This show is just awful and I seriously believe that the only way it could be on TV is if JR Digs is buying this air time from Global TV in order to make his own show. They have Coors Light as an advertiser but there weren't any other ads that I saw during the episode tonight so it really looks to me like they got Coors Light to either cover completely or to at least help them pay to buy this air time. It would also explain why this show is on so late at night around other paid-for-advertising "programs" not to mention how a show like this could get on the air at all. The quality of the show is awful, they use bad effects in a desperate attempt to be funny but it just makes it more obvious how poorly written and produced this "show" is. I can't believe it's on the air again and can only hope that Coors Light wakes up and stops paying for this crap to be aired on TV, JR Digs is one of the worst hosts and "shows" I have ever seen. Nothing good or funny about this show, just one guy's painfully bad attempt to have his own show that he somehow--possibly at gunpoint?--got somebody to actually put on TV.

Hella Lame
23 August 2010
This show is lame, but that can be said of every comedy on CBC in the last few years with the exception of the return of The Kids In The Hall for their miniseries Death Comes To Town which was quite good. Not so good as the original Kids In The Hall series but still very good.

It is impossible to watch Rick Mercer's Show and not compare it to This Hour Has 22 Minutes because Rick Mercer is so synonymous with that show after starring in it for so many years. He was phenomenal on that show but I would agree with the other posters he is definitely 100% coasting on the Mercer Show. The jokes are very lame. The bits are all Rick Mercer talking to the camera directly and none of it is particularly cutting or funny. I feel Rick Mercer just mellowed or something as he got older. The only pieces he still does on his show that he used to do at This Hour Has 22 Minutes are the street pieces in black and white where he walks at the backwards moving camera ranting about a political issue and those are still good but few and short and far between.

Compared to the other CBC comedy turds out there now (Ron James Show, Royal Canadian Air Farce who keep coming back for specials, This Hour Has 22 Minutes, Little Mosque On The Prairie and more) Rick Mercer is okay but compared to the shows offered on other channels this show is just a snoozefest. CBC needs a house cleaning.

Like Watching My Grampa Try To Be Funny....
19 August 2010
Watching this show is exactly like watching my gram-pa try to be funny and failing miserably. We all grin around the table and maybe even force a laugh here and there when he talks louder and louder and waves his arms around to emphasize whatever the hell he is talking about and then when the joke/story is done (and the only way to tell when the endless stream of nonsense is done is that he stops talking and flailing his arms and looks around the table at the rest of us waiting for us to burst into laughter while he sits there with a huge grin on his face trying not to be the first one to laugh) we die a little inside because he is trying so hard but just isn't funny at all. Should we laugh to make him feel good or in the long run is it better for all of us if we don't humour him and let him know that his jokes need a lot of work? Anyway the Ron James show is like being trapped in a room with my gram-pa for half an hour while he tells one painfully unfunny joke after another. I don't know when CBC dove head first down the toilet but when they finally got rid of Air Farce then replaced it with an abortion of a show like this I lost all hope for original TV in this country. Seriously Ron James might be even less funny than This Hour Has 22 Minutes has become and that show is pathetic beyond belief. If you read this gram-pa sorry you are not really less funny than Ron James or This Hour Has 22 Minutes I was just joking to make a point.

Lame.... Please Apply Cement Boots And Throw In Nearest Lake....
19 August 2010
This show was so lame! I am happy it is gone but still angry that it was ever on television to begin with. How does garbage like this ever get made? I am convinced the guy in this show is the son of the person who owns the station otherwise how does such an unfunny clip where a guy talks to himself in an owl suit get turned into a half hour show? Was half a minute not enough time to watch something awful we need to see it for a full half hour? The show wouldn't have even been funny if I had just smoked 18 pounds of the best pot I have ever gotten my hands on. I would still be angry watching this because I could pick out ten of my friends from class who have no training or experience but could go on television and just tell stories and burp--literally--and still be way more funny than this useless abortion of a television show. Never put this on the air again.

Lame.... Please Shoot In Head & Take To Nearest Glue Factory....
19 August 2010
This Hour Has 22 Minutes used to be a very good show. Then as a show it had some ups and downs with the quality of the comedy and the performances. But now it is just solid lame jokes and lame performances wall to wall every single week.

I just saw an episode yesterday, could have been a rerun or a brand new episode (not sure because I stopped watching early this past season when the show just kept getting worse than it has ever been). Here is what happened in the show.... they did a lame joke about the way to remember a terrorist's name is to put it to a song with all four cast members singing a verse. The singing was pretty bad but the real sad thing is the joke was old right away and they put us through two minutes of singing, yes we get it sometimes terrorist's names are hard to remember or pronounce, and guess what else the joke's been done to death. The beating of the dead horse continued.

They did a Being Erica spoof where Erica was sent back too far and killed Hitler. This was the only thing that wasn't totally awful. It could have been very funny but somehow they still went nowhere with it. A Little Mosque on the Prairie Joke that any fifth grader could come up with ("next on Little Mosque they all get searched by airport security"). As usual they did a lot of headline jokes (news anchors reading jokes about the news) that were almost all lame and predictable. They did a premier of Newfoundland addressing the nation bit where he wore a seal skin suit that was so painful I actually groaned. They dressed up Gavin Crawford as that zitty teenager character (I guess not realizing he's like 45 years old now? wtf?) and had him interviewing people at a charity skiing event.... here's the thing when you land an interview with Alec Baldwin the day he wins a Golden Globe maybe you should actually get one or two funny moments out of it instead of just having him point out that you're obviously not a teenager. Similar wasted moments with Justin Trudeau, Mark Messier, Alan Thicke and more. The Alan Thicke stuff wasn't bad (pretended he was the father of a famous person and Gavin didn't know who he was) but the rest just sucked.

A take on the skiing tag removal commercial that honestly wasn't bad thanks to the performance of a 6 year old girl ("mommy's not a monster any more"). About the 9000th Nancy Grace bit they've done (wow she sure is ultra-conservative and takes things the wrong way!). This show was once a strong race horse but now all its legs are badly broken and mangled so please put a bullet in its brain and end our misery.

Dark Rising (2007 Video)
4/10
Waste of time
27 February 2010
Dark Rising is your typical bad, obviously quickly produced horror/sci-fi/fantasy movie. It has a strange, unexplained plot with holes so big you could fit an elephant through them. Most of the time I didn't know what the hell was going on but it didn't really matter, it was a simple demon hunter returns from hell dimension to save campers story with confusing stuff added on about witches and a book of evil with plot elements and characters who make no sense or disappear totally for no reason. The acting is bad but there honestly is not much they can do with this script I am guessing. There is a couple topless scenes which is probably the only reason this bad movie got made (like so many other bad movies). Give this one a pass unless there is nothing else on T.V.

10 Percenters!
19 November 2008
Funny show I wish it would be on in reruns again, I give it 7 out of 10 from what I remember it was a good show but I'm sure it would probably be a bit dated. The material might not be the most relevant any more but I would still like to see it again.

The writing was good and so were the performers. I will pick it up on DVD if it is out and I recommend watching it if you like British shows because it's a good show and it is good viewing you can let children watch too, it is safe to let children watch. It's hard to believe it's already 15 years old!

This show blows
3 February 2007
Jeff Ltd is a pathetic show on every level.

It's a comedy that isn't funny first of all. The acting is terrible, the scripts/stories are terrible, the directing and producing in fact the production as a whole is terrible.

None of the characters are likable and that is okay because you can have a comedy show with unlikeable people but the characters aren't funny either. The acting is the big downfall with this show.

I hope it gets taken off the airwaves soon because Jeff Lts is pathetically bad.
