Star Trek: Picard: No Win Scenario (2023)
I was ready to hate this new season
The first episode was good, number 2 and 3 didn't quite do it for me. The villain was cartoonish. But this episode was all what TNG was about. I hate the previous seasons, with a passion. This episode won me over. I skip a 2 awkward conversation but at the end of it I was touch again by the TNG magic. If they keep it up in the 6 remaining episodes, is going to be a lovely farewell for this cast.
Don't know what else to say about this so I'm going to copy a quite from Raymond Chandler that I love.
"They just sat there looking back at me. The orange queen was clacking her typewriter. Cop talk was no more treat for her than legs to a dance director. They had the calm weathered faces of healthy men in hard condition. They had the eyes they always have, cloudy and grey like freezing water. The firm set mouth, the hard little wrinkles at the corners of the eyes, the hard hollow meaningless stare, not quite cruel and a thousand miles from kind. The dull ready-made clothes, worn without style, with a sort of contempt; the look of men who are poor and yet proud of their power, watching always for ways to make it felt, to shove it into you and twist it and grin and watch you squirm, ruthless without malice, cruel and yet not always unkind. What would you expect them to be? Civilization had no meaning for them. All they saw of it was the failures, the dirt, the dregs, the aberrations and the disgust."
WandaVision: We Interrupt This Program (2021)
Wanda's coping mechanism
They were heading here. Was hinted a lot in the previous episodes, but they got here fast. Wonder what do they have in store for this show. Can't be just Wanda getting her act straight or Vision coming back to life.
Star Trek: Discovery: There Is a Tide... (2020)
Someone said that why the negative
It is because of the bad writing, the plot holes, the done to death in a non creative way scripts (lazy writing) and the bad character development (or lack of).
The only good (kind of) episodes where the mirror universe one, because they have more liberty to do stuff on a unknown universe (lore wise).
There is no moral dilemma, only drama and always a forced "care for these Characters" for no reason, just because we tell with (cue) the music.
Tiresome, bad
The Umbrella Academy: The White Violin (2019)
I've seen this before
And I'm getting tired of forced dramas where peolpe try to do something, goes bad and keep trying it. Well, that sums up the last three episodes.
I've alredy seen this. Kind of sad since it had a great premisea
Edit: I read the p'remise of the comics and actually this is an improvement, at least on what triggers the situations, but still. Predictable and ninesensical at certain points. Raised to three stars
The Orville: Majority Rule (2017)
To everyone calling it a Black Mirror rip off
Community did it first, you hack frauds. My only complain is the way John gets away. They could have just hacked the "Feed" voting system (RL, anyone?), and be done with it. But no!, they have to make it exciting... Bleh. Overall, great episode.
So, next time you accuse of something, try to get your facts right.
