Rei do Gado was a novel divided in two parts. The first part is about Italians immigrants, in 40's, in Brazil and the second part in 1996 em Sao Paulo. The novel was focused on a fight between neighbours: Mezenga's family against Berdinazzi's family. The author explore very well the new immigrants in Sao Paulo, Italians' life style, countryside, II WW, passions and lovers. During their troubles, Giovanna Berdinazzi and Enrico Mezenga felt in love. The couple had a boy, Bruno. The drama arrived in 1996, the descendants still have a quarrel all the time they met each other.
It was a lovely story but I did not like the Italian language that was spoken in the novel, it was quite bad. Antonio Fagundes was Antonio Mezenga and Raul Cortez was Geremias Berdinazzi. Rei do Gado was a great success and you cannot miss this wonderful story.
