65 (2023)
Clever premise, exciting and strangely emotional
Really enjoyed this movie.....lots of levels and kept me and my teenage son gripped to the end
Lots of thrills and a smattering of real emotion in a story of loss and discovery
Images are really well done and the dinosaur bit is just enough and not overdone.....the story is much more than just CGI excitement but it is done really well
Endearing relationship between the two humans in the movie and when you watch you'll understand why
Like all good adventures and sci-fi / dinosaur movies you have to leave your scepticism at the cinema door and just sit back and enjoy
Whomever reviews this with a critique is missing the point, it's just a good story and a wonderful ride through a day 65 Million years ago.
The Dark Tower (2017)
Ignore the Stephen King bores
If you're unable to recite every line of every Stephen King novel and are able to just sit and enjoy a romp of an adventure then this is worth a watch
It has a smattering of subtlety scary scenes which give you a hint of evil and it's well paced
The relationship between The Gunslinger and Jake is really endearing and maybe that's what drew me to this moreso than the plot etc....
I really enjoyed it, in fact I've watched it a couple of times.
Interceptor (2022)
Against all odds
Vaguely ridiculous movie, with an unbelievable storyline and so much more to make this a really ludicrous premise.......but, very entertaining !!!
Just take your brain out first and put it in a box before you press play.
Taboo (2017)
5 years in the watching
Extraordinarily watchable.....this is and will remain a classic.
An amazing ensemble and whilst Tom Hardy is superb every role is perfectly cast.
How did I miss it first time round ?
The Adam Project (2022)
Memory lane
Loved this movie for its mix of action, laughs and emotion
This is more than a space / time travelling romp or merely a stage for Ryan Reynolds to do him (although he does him really well again), deeper down it's about loss and wishing you'd said and done those things that your older self finds out, often too late.....
Yes it's cheesy but it's not time wasted and I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish......maybe it appealed to my inner-child but......
If you've ever lost someone and still carry them with you, make sure you have something to wipe the tears away because you will shed a few.....and you laugh and love the special effects.
Stay Close (2021)
Twists and turns like a twisty turny thing
Good performances and it's worth sticking with.....right to the end !!!
Only thing I would question is the "dance partner psychopaths" who just seem so out of place in a UK based serial killer drama.....so bizarre and so utterly left field, I think it spoiled what was a great story.
