Sad comedy
29 November 2018
We have a girl, who is not "perfect" and she s left by her boyfriend. She gets depressed and decides to work on her body to get her man back... I guess you can find this script in the heads of many young girls, so you would expect writers to add some spices to this scenario, surprise the young audience. And no. That will not happen. Everything will be the way you imagine... happy ending with everyone being thin. Apart from being not funny, it also sets bad example of too fast weight-loss journey.

Just not good enough
29 November 2018
The summary of the movie sums up pretty much the whole movie. The story is not very interesting - struggling team gets a struggling player as their coach. Struggling coach falls in love with struggling girl. So everyone is struggling at some level and the solutions come quite easy and cheesy... And the most disappointing part is that actors are good. They can show much more than this script had to offer to their characters. So yeah, just casual happy ending and some soccer. Nothing special.

Not original story but great act
29 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
The story is not original - it might be copied and it looks like many other drama movies. A man has it all - honesty and his family. And it is all taken from him - plane crashes, a lot of people die because of human error and this is where the drama begins. One man show, one man drama, one man act. The environment around is not very important and it's not as captivating as the acting of Nagyjev (and I'm not even a fan of his work). The story won't end well - more people will die. Nevertheless, all stars go for acting.

Agony of decision now has a face
8 November 2014
Warning: Spoilers
I'm not the expert in cinema criticism but this movie deserves to be reviewed and recommended.

The story is not original; by every minute of the movie you can already guess what is happening next. Story basically portrays a world famous singer Tom, who lived life as he wishes not as someone else would have wished him to live. Drugs, marriages, fame, art, money, kid - it's his luggage. He comes home to record an album and he is forced to meet his estranged daughter. From this moment when you see a small boy with her, the absence of any relations between them and the bleeding nose of young woman you get – she is junkie, something will happen and kid will stay with Tom. And so it is, the woman leaves her luggage to a person who doesn't see the world around, he creates it. Music is his world and there is no place for humans or feelings.

The only creature without luggage is Noa, the little boy who has questions and gets very blunt answers. The scenes where Tom and Noa have small conversations about mother, about drugs, about Noa's future are hard to watch. The man has no idea how to lie or to make truth sound better. The boy collects his luggage within few weeks with Tom and is almost left to live life without anyone behind his back. But yeah, there's a tiny happy end.

The movie is very cold, with very few sentimental moments. It's torturing as you are forced to watch how main character is dealing with decision he has to make – to live as he used to or to let in Noa in his life. You literally can imagine what is the face of agony of decision because Mikael Persbrandt's acting makes you believe every bit of it. His performance makes this familiar story a truly impressive movie.

The movie also contains a great soundtrack and very sincere performances by Mikael Persbrandt and Trine Dyrholm. Their duo perfoms ballads in the studio and they are just mesmerizing. You can find these songs in the new album of young musician Tina Dico.

Something wrong about this movie
25 June 2014
You have to read some reviews and understand what are you going to watch before you watch it. It's not horror movie and not thriller.

If you watch it as it is, its dead-end boring and you will not understand anything. A girl comes to Chile, becomes paranoid, strange people around, who play with not even funny games. Girl looks sick but no one seems to care too much until she dies.

If you try to go deeper it is as some reviews write: "This movie is more about the clash of ancient and modern cultural norms in treating someone with obvious medical needs. Here are a group of inexperienced youths raised in a modern world but facing a threatening and dangerous situation with only old world medical practice available to them. They find themselves caught between to conflicting worlds." Could not use this brilliant quote. The idea is great, but must say actors are pretty boring, scenario doesn't bring the best out this situation.

Watch it and judge just the visual outcome of something that could have been really good.
