La terza madre (2007)
This can't be Dario Argento!
As a big fan of Argento's classics like "Suspiria" or "Profundo Rosso", I had big expectations on this movie and I was very happy they showed it at our local cinema as an midnight movie. Now after watching the film, I can't say how disappointed I am! Take "Suspiria" or "Inferno", substract the surrealistic lights, the bizarre settings, the scary soundtrack and the whole gloomy atmosphere and add some lousy computer generated effects, some cheap splatter and gore and a totally mindless story with no sense at all. Especially annoying is the appearance of the main characters mother as a ghost who always tells her daughter: "You must do this, you must do that." Childish, cheesy crap. And the heroine can make herself invisible for people chasing her. Absolutely laughable. The witches look like bitches, their costumes are totally cheap. The movie reminds me more of an episode of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" as of an Dario Argento movie. To come to an conclusion: If you are a fan of Dario Argento, do yourself a favor and avoid this movie at all costs!
The Dark Knight (2008)
Nice entertainment!
I'm usually the type of guy who really hates modern superhero movies, because of their stupid plots and massive computer effects that makes them look like a video game and not like a movie. Because I'm ten years over the age of 12, I usually don't watch this movies. I got convinced by my friends to watch this flick and now I can say: The Dark Knight is different. Here we have great performances, especially Heath Ledger, a dark and exciting story and believable looking special effects. To come to an conclusion: The Dark Knight is not the essential masterpiece of the decade, like many people would say, but is it highly enjoyable entertaining cinema and even worth to get in on DVD later.
Thor il conquistatore (1983)
Only for the hard-boiled trash maniacs!
I really understand why many people hate this movie. Really everything here is crap, the "actors", the story, the buildings and the rest. Just some random scenes of stupid looking people who fight with swords and axes that look like they are made of cardboard. Especially dumb is one scene with some ghosts in a cave. This ghosts just appear to affright the hero, they do absolutely nothing and look like the figures in a low class fairground ghost train. All the other "deadly dangers" the hero has to face, are comparatively harmless too. There are so many funny mistakes, like a modern village in the background or a beach with countless footprints of tourists. To make a conclusion: I really recommend this movie to hard boiled trash movie lovers like me, that's the reason I gave it 5*. OK, there are better "masterworks", like the Ator movies, but with good friends and beer this one is great too. If you hate cheap trash movies, avoid this film at all costs.
