Ride of the Valkyrie (1967)
Zero Mostel's hilarious journey
I, too, saw this film back in the 60s when it was shown on TV - thought it hilarious then and have been looking for a copy ever since. I would recommend it to anyone if ever it turns up again. If anyone knows where to obtain a copy (VHS or DVD) post info here ( if allowed ). This short film ( if memory serves ) stood out even then because it had no dialogue and was shot in black and white and depicts the trials and tribulations of a Wagnerian opera singer ( Zero Mostel ) attempting to get from an airport ( Heathrow? ) via the many different forms of public transport to the opera house. In an attempt to save time he wears his full operatic costume including carrying a spear. Anyone who doesn't find just the idea funny needs a humour implant.
