Night of the Demons III (1997)
I don't know why everyone is cutting on this movie
I don't know why everyone is giving this movie a bad review, its loaded with the same graphic violence and humor and sex as the other 2 have. I have seen it a couple times and I think its just as good as the first two, I only own number one though. I have to find the other two. The storyline is actually a bit more believable considering that this group wasn't just teens looking to party, they desperately needed somewhere to hide and angela's was the only place around and it was just a load of gory fun, sex, and humor after they entered the house so I don't know why no one else likes this but I like them all so those people need to back off.
Funny, but different
OK I really enjoyed this movie, I am a big Adam Sandler and Kevin James fan and I knew this movie would be funny even from the previews. I have never watched any movie before that had to do with gay men though, even though they weren't really gay. Then again they were some things that were really different about this film like Ving Rhames's character who is just looking for a way to come out of the closet and other characters who always play gay parts in movies such as Nick Swardson. I can't forget Jessica Biel though, she is so hot in this film and does a great acting job too. Overall I give this an 8 out of 10 because it was really funny, but was a little different. I would recommend this to all comedy fans and of course Adam Sandler and Kevin James's fans.
License to Wed (2007)
OK now this movie wasn't bad at all, I am a pretty big Robin Williams fan, I mean like I love Mrs. Doubtfire, RV, and a couple other of his movies and stand up specials too. Even though I thought he was a bit held back in this one since he was the playing the role of a reverend and couldn't say his normal jokes that makes him hilarious. John Krasinski and Mandy Moore weren't bad as the couple who are struggling to get married but then realize that there is more to it than they realized. Overall I give it a 7 out of 10 because I had a few laughs but it probably could have been better. I would recommend this to all Robin Williams fans, just don't expect him to be hilarious in this one and to comedy fans as well.
Weird horror film
OK now I expected this movie to be a little weird, but it was way weirder than I thought it would be. Elisha Cuthbert did a really good job as a kidnapped model who falls in love with the other guy who is being held there as they team up to try and find a way out. But this is really sick because of the torture chamber parts in which the creep actually makes the victims eat other peoples body parts and I almost threw up more than once. Although it was sick, I actually enjoyed it even though the ending was really weird. I give it a 7 out of 10 because it was horrifying like a horror film should be. I would recommend this to all horror fans and the scary movie fans who love gore.
The Tripper (2006)
Not bad, but not good either
OK now this movie wasn't completely horrible because the whole idea of a psychopath obsessing himself with Ronald Reagan and then dressing up like him to go kill hippies actually worked and was pretty frightening. But the gore was really fake looking and the characters were just completely dumb because they were really high the whole movie and didn't pay attention to anything that could have saved their lives. I like David Arquette, but I think he needed to rewrite this one a little before he made it and make the gore a little more realistic as well. Overall I give it a 6 out of 10 because it had a good storyline, but it kind of failed as the movie continued on. I would only recommend this to those who like brainless horror films with dumb characters and fake gore.
Spider-Man 3 (2007)
Better than the 2nd, but some parts are just dumb
OK now I loved the 1st Spider Man but I have to say that Spider Man 2 had a couple cool action scenes, but it was a let down to me because there was just too much drama, confusion, and romance involved with the whole superhero image and it just doesn't mix. But back to this one, Spider Man 3 was fairly good because there were more villains and a few more cool action scenes than the second but some parts were just brainless and unnecessary like when he begins to convert to the dark side and he begins to dance and act cooler around everyone, I almost fell asleep during that 15 minutes of the movie. But if you can manage to get through that 15 minutes without turning it off, then the rest of the movie is actually pretty good. Overall I give it a 7 out of 10 because the action was great and there was more than the second, but it did have some dull moments where it seemed like the director was trying to kill time and make it longer. I would recommend this to all superhero and action fans like me, especially if you liked the first two films.
The Wendell Baker Story (2005)
I thought it would be better
OK now I have always liked Luke and Owen Wilson as well as many other stars in this film such as Eddie Griffin, Eva Mendes, Kris Kristofferson, and Will Ferrell but for some reason this movie wasn't funny at all. It was more dramatic and from the looks of the trailer, I was expecting a comedy with several laughs since it starred Luke and Owen Wilson, but I only laughed like twice the whole movie and I was expecting to laugh way more. It kind of tells the life of Wendell Baker, but it really fails to make anything about his life funny like they should have. Overall I give this a 4 out of 10 because I was expecting a comedy, not a drama. I wouldn't recommend this to comedy fans, but if you are looking for something different and you are a Luke Wilson fan then you may like this, but i'm not sure because I am a Luke Wilson fan and I didn't even like this one.
Hostel: Part II (2007)
OK now I liked the first Hostel even though the first 30 minutes was nothing but sex and drugs, it was still a great horror movie. But this one was really gross, I mean the first one had its moments but the ending of this film is the grossest thing I have ever seen in a movie. The movie was pretty decent before the ending, because that was just utterly gross and I nearly screamed at the TV because it was horrifying. Overall I give this one a 6 out of 10 because it had some great moments, but some parts were really gross and uncalled for. I would recommend this to horror fans who love to see gore and who have no limits when it comes to sickness or the point of vomiting because this movie is not for the weak stomached.
Mr. Brooks (2007)
Terrible, could have been so much better
OK I was expecting so much more from this movie than what I got, It dragged along for the first 90 minutes horribly and the only murders you see is the very first one. The other murders that happen are just talked about and maybe the crime scenes are visited and I thought that was really stupid because they played it out like it was a made for TV movie because none of the murders are shown until like the last 20 minutes of the film and that makes it really suck. I was expecting some strong bloody violence like it says in the ratings and there are only like 2 scenes of it in the whole film. I am not a big Kevin Costner fan but I liked Waterworld, The Untouchables, and 3000 Miles to Graceland but this one wasn't in his best interest. Demi Moore and Dane Cook did a pretty good job, but the movie was poorly written. Overall I give this a 5 out of 10 because the last 20 minutes of the film weren't bad, but the first 100 minutes were just terrible and I was bored. I wouldn't recommend this to all thriller fans, but if your bored and if you're a Kevin Costner or Demi Moore fan, then go for it but you may be disappointed.
OK I really liked this film, its a lot of fun that combines action and humor to the maximum level of extreme. Shia Lebeouf does a good job as the neighborhood kid who buys a car that turns out to be an alien robot. The action is really well shot and the graphics are out of this world. The freeway car chase scene and the city battle towards the end of the movie is really amazing and actually looks like its really happening in front of our everyday normal people, its amazing. Overall I give this an 8 out of 10 because the action is unbelievable and the humor is actually quite funny too. I would recommend this to all action fans and to all fans of Michael Bay who enjoyed his other films such as Bad Boys 1 & 2 and The Island. If you love action, see Transformers!!!
Entertaining and gory sequel!!!!
OK I loved this sequel, it was great and the kill scenes were just amazingly gory. It started out a little slow, but once they get to the house, the fun starts and everyone starts to meet their bloody and brutal demises. It was well shot and it lived up to the first film, it may have even been better than the first film because I thought this should have been a theatrical release like the first one. Jeffrey Combs returned as the evil Dr. Vannacutt and Cerina Vincent from Cabin Fever is also in this and she is smoking hot. But yeah this movie was really good and I enjoyed it. Overall I give it an 8 out of 10 because the gore is amazing and its a great movie to watch on Halloween. I would recommend this to all horror fans.
The Invisible (2007)
Pretty awesome thriller
OK I really liked this thriller, even though some parts are really sad, its very gripping and entertaining and your never quite sure whats going to happen until it does. It was entertaining all the way through the whole 102 minute movie even though the real idea of the movie doesn't come into play until after about 30 minutes after it has been on, but I really enjoyed this and its also from the director of Blade: Trinity and that movie was just amazing. But I really liked The Invisible because its really entertaining. I give this an 8 out of 10 because this was a great idea for a thriller and it really worked. I would recommend this to all thriller fans because you will not be disappointed at all.
The Reaping (2007)
OK I was kind of thinking that this movie would be a little scarier than it was, even though it was a surprisingly entertaining thriller. Hilary Swank does a great job as the scientist trying to discover the truth and solve the problem of the town, but it also drags a bit at first. So if you can get past the first 45 minutes of just talking and investigating, then you will enjoy it because it gets a little better and it has a solid ending as well in which I liked. I would give this movie a 7 out of 10 because it is entertaining just as long as you're not expecting a horror film or anything. I would recommend this to all thriller fans though because it doesn't disappoint on some levels.
Planet Terror (2007)
OK I really enjoyed this Grindhouse movie a lot more than Death Proof because it wasn't boring at all and it was as entertaining as it was disgusting and I loved it. Rose McGowan is pretty awesome in this as being a bad ass and at being sexy. I also liked the appearances from other cool stars such as Bruce Willis and Michael Biehn, this movie is a lot of fun and anyone who loves violent entertainment will definitely get a kick out of Planet Terror, I know I did. Overall I give it a 9 out of 10 because it was almost perfect even though some of the gore is a little far fetched, you still learn to love it throughout the film. I would recommend this to all action and horror fans and of course fans of Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino like me.
Evan Almighty (2007)
A great family comedy
OK I really enjoyed this sequel, although the first one with Jim Carrey is a little better, this one is still pretty funny. I don't know why everyone was giving this such a bad review because I watched it in the middle of the night and I really liked it. I don't think I have ever laughed so much at a PG movie as I did Evan Almighty. Steve Carell is hilarious in this as well as his other films like The 40 Year Old Virgin and his appearances in Bruce Almighty and Anchorman. Morgan Freeman does a good job as god once again and the ending is not only funny, but really cool too. They really put some work into it for this to be a comedy movie. Overall I give this an 8 out of 10 because it was really funny and I liked it. I would recommend this to all Steve Carell fans and all comedy fans who like to watch good clean comedy.
OK this movie was kind of good, some parts were entertaining and worth watching and then there were some parts that dragged. I guess I was expecting like a female Blade from this movie but there is not near as much action in this as in the Blade trilogy. Lucy Liu and Michael Chiklis did a pretty good job of playing the heroes out for vengeance but I was just expecting more action and more gore than it had. Overall I give it a 7 out of 10 because it was good, but it could have been so much better. I would recommend this to fans of these types of movies, just don't expect too much action or gore when u see it because it lacks special effects.
Wrong Turn 2: Dead End (2007)
Entertaining and gory, but some scenes were inappropriate
OK now I sort of liked this movie, it was a gory horror sequel to a good horror movie. I loved the strong horror violence and gore, but some scenes were just really disturbing and i'm talking about some of the scenes in this film that involve the inbred cannibals in sexual situations that absolutely no one would ever care to see, not even the sickest people on the planet. Henry Rollins did a good job as the ex-marine who would stop at nothing to take down the psychos and Erica Leerhsen did a good job too. I give this one a 7 out of 10 because it was good, but it could have done without some of the scenes that I was discussing up above. I would recommend this film to all horror movie fans, but I wouldn't recommend it to those who are disturbed or sickened easily, definitely not for the weak stomached.
Night of the Living Dead 3D (2006)
The worst zombie film ever!!
Oh my god, I could not believe how dumb and pointless this film was. Whoever thought that this movie was good and that it would make money, needs to be thrown out of the movie business. I watched this for 10 minutes and I was already laughing because it was so dumb and pointless. Not to mention that for the next 70 minutes of the movie, I was just talking to my girlfriend and waiting for the credits to roll because this movie was a true piece of garbage and the worst zombie film ever. I gave it a 1 out of 10 because this movie has no good qualities, bad makeup, no gore, and bad acting equals a dumb and pointless horror film. I wouldn't recommend this movie to anyone, not even the hardcore zombie fans like me because if you watch this, then you will most definitely want your money back, I know I do.
4: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007)
I really liked this sequel, it was really entertaining with some pretty good action, awesome special effects, and it also has a few good laughs in it too thanks to Chris Evans who plays the human torch. But I really enjoyed this film altogether, this is another film that I was able to watch in the middle of the night at like 3 and I didn't even once nod or think about falling asleep. Overall I give this an 8 out of 10, the same as I gave the first one too because they are both great superhero movies and some sequels don't quite live up to the original but I have to say that this one definitely lived up to the original. I would recommend this to all action fans and of course to all fans of superheroes and marvel comic characters.
Species: The Awakening (2007)
The best since the original
OK I was hoping that the fourth Species installment would be good, but I was truly surprised that it was this good. After seeing the second and third one, I thought I was convinced that they couldn't make another one that would match up to the original with Natasha Henstridge but I was wrong because this one came very close. The story is very entertaining and there are some good sequences of violence too unlike number 3. I was really entertained by this one because I watched it at like 3 in the morning and I watched it all. Overall I give it an 8 out of 10 because it was the best since the original and it is a great thriller. I would recommend it to all fans of the Species movies and of course to all the sci-fi fans out there like me.
Plane Dead (2007)
Awesome zombie movie
This movie was a lot better than I expected it to be, but then again I didn't know that it was made by New Line Cinema before I rented it or I would have expected the cool action and thrills from it. It took about 45 minutes for all of the zombie action to start, but once it does, it doesn't stop until the ending. The zombie makeup is pretty good and the gore is really good as well. I enjoyed it, its one of the better zombie movies that I have seen since Dawn of the Dead(2004). Overall I give it a 7 out of 10 because I really enjoyed it even though the ending was a little weird, but i'm not going to spoil anything for anyone who hasn't seen it. I would recommend this to all zombie fans and horror movie fans as well.
Psychologically Disturbing in a good way
OK now I have been let down a lot by Stephen King because some of his movies just don't make any since like Riding The Bullet and Needful Things, but I really like this one because it wasn't confusing at all and it was detailed to the tee about everything. It showed every aspect of the haunting that occurred in the room and it showed what really haunted John Cusack's mind that the room knew about. It was way better than I expected, probably the best Stephen King movie yet. I give it a 7 out of 10 because it had its frightening moments and its in no way confusing like many other Stephen KIng movies, I would recommend to all fans of Stephen King and I would also recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good thriller where you have no idea what is going to happen next.
The Other Side (2006)
Not bad at all!!
OK now I liked this movie unlike a lot of the straight to DVD movies that I have watched, it had some great action along with some good fights as well. I really liked the whole escape from Lucifer's bounty hunters idea, this movie had a little bit of something for everyone, it had action, humor, thrills, and even sadness towards the ending. I liked the movie although I thought the ending could have been a lot better if it was given a little more thought. Altogether I give this movie a 7 out of 10 because I enjoyed it, I have seen theatrical films that could learn a thing or two from this film even though I wasn't a big fan of the ending. I would recommend this to action fans and those who like thrillers because this movie is certainly not disappointing.
Knocked Up (2007)
I liked this movie but then again I knew I would a little because its basically from the same people that made The 40 Year Old Virgin and that movie was beyond hilarious especially the unrated version. This movie was pretty good though, Seth Rogen and Paul Rudd are outstandingly funny as always and Katherine Heigl does a pretty good job too even though it was a role that I never thought she would play. I thought the birth scene at the end was a bit gross, but i'm not sure if that was just in the unrated version or not. But altogether I give it an 8 out of 10 because its funny but its not The 40 Year Old Virgin. I would recommend it to comedy fans if you are just wanting to kick back and relax and have a few laughs though.
Weird and just dumb
OK I thought this movie would be pretty decent since it was made from the director of The Exorcist and it starred Ashley Judd, but this movie just plain sucked. It was really boring at first and even when it started getting into the disturbing details, it was really dumb because none of the horror that the characters go through in this movie is believable. Bugs under their skin that no one but them can see, I think they call those psychological delusions. They were obviously just paranoid and believing what they were wanting to believe because of all of the cocaine they had snorted. But anyways I give this a 2 out of 10 because it was really bad and in no way was it a good movie at all. I would not recommend this movie to any movie fans, especially fans of the horror genre like me. Trust me on this, avoid at all costs because if not you will want your money back.
