Shadow and Bone (2021)
rushed and reductive
I want to start this by saying i'm really happy for leigh and the fact her universe was brought to life. Season one started off strong. Season two is nearly unbearable. I've read everything she's ever written. This feels like it wasn't made for her fans but for netflix. I don't understand most of the changes made. I'm not even talking about plot, although that should be brought up. I'm talking about the characters. Their relationships with eachother. Even if you're going to cut out a major plot, atleast offer backstory for the crow introduced from it. I'm so disappointed. I no longer want a 3rd season.
Uncharted (2022)
convicted felon is also a boring actor. shocker
Marky mark should've stuck to a life of crime, he doesn't have the talent for this career path. His role should've been recasted & makes me wonder if he even makes money off his roles or if he has to bribe people to cast him. Other than that, this action packed movie somehow managed to be outstandingly boring. Tomb raider is still the superior game to film adaptation.
The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window (2022)
waste of a plot
This was really fun. It's a fun easy to follow mystery story that would take like a day to read if it were a novel. If you like a well choreographed fight scene with an absurd twist, stay til the end. Kristen is a star.
Yellowjackets (2021)
it's good.
This is a good show. Is it the height of television? No. Is it compelling? Yes. It's had me hooked since episode one. A mostly teenage cast that delivers convincing performances. I haven't once felt any lack from this show. A lot of bad reviews, i think mostly because people are getting tired of teen ensemble dramas. But this is dark and shocking and much more than those reviews led me to believe. It's not riverdale at all (at all). Not lost either really, although definitely reminiscent. I've watched both of those shows in full, one with regret lol. Give it a try. Heck, it's got juliette lewis. Cape fear anyone?
