Has there ever been an actor as completely watcxhable as the wonderful Sir Rex Harrison? His performance in my Fair Lady will always bee onee of the all time greats! As with Gable in "Gone With The Wind", Yul Brynner in "King and I' and Brando and Leigh in "Streetcar, Harrison's Henry Higgins is a legend. He brings such a quality to the role making you sympatise, while also making you say "What an arrogant S.O.B.!"
He won a well deserved Oscar for the film against some stiff competition including Burton and O'Toole in "Becket". The rest of the cast is nothing to sneeze at either. The great Stanley Hollowy and the ever watchable Wilfred Hyde White lending ever enjoyable support along with Gladys Cooper as Higgin's long suffering Mother. Hepburn could have been better, but why complain. She is good enough for the role, and besides...its Sir Rex's film anyway. So sit back and enjoy This legendary actor in his most famous role!
