Belgravia: The Next Chapter (2024)
The secondary characters were more likeable
Bad points:
Frederick is mostly the problem here. He is always upset, frustrated about his past and looks as if he is about to commit murder. Episode 1 ended with him breaking something. His wife fell down the stairs because of him, yet she keeps defending him in front of everyone despite people telling her she looks unhappy. Frederick managed to ruin every happy moment: the dinner at the restaurant after an artist drew his wife's portrait, yelling at his wife for thinking she talked behind his back, making her run outside and falling down the stairs and covering everything up, throwing his brother out who came to make peace with him, yelling at his wife again for calling his brother to make peace with him, abandoning his wife after their first night together out of frustration. Frederick has some serious problems which ruins everyone's enjoyment watching the show. I started skipping Frederick and Clara's scenes completely. Their acting is good but the characters are unlikeable.
Good points:
1. Doctor Ellerby, the reverend James Trenchard (Frederick's brother), Emily Dunn (Clara's sister), Mr Enright the butler are far more entertaining and interesting characters than Clara x Frederick. At least we have some characters we like in order to continue watching the show.
2. Love the outfits;
3. On point hairstyles;
4. Beautiful scenery;
5. Beautiful home decor;
6. Loved the opera music played in the restaurant from episode 1;
7. Clara signing in episode 1;
8. Emily having feelings for the reverend is far more interesting than Clara and Frederick's story.
9. Good acting.
Scooby-Doo: Return to Zombie Island (2019)
Too bad I can't give it a 0/10. This movie is trying to throw shade at a masterpiece classic that brings nostalgia
Why bother make this movie just to throw shade on the original by proving that zombies don't exist. Everyone was out of character. All movies/ shows that included red shirt era Shaggy + Zombie Island (green shirt Shaggy exception) had real ghosts and monsters. Those zombies were real.
The movie showed how the characters suffered from memory loss for a while. They weren't in their 40s to say a lot of time happened since Zombie Island, yet everyone barely remembered the zombie incident.
Shaggy is my favorite character but can't say the same in this movie. Shaggy and Scooby had only few repetitive lines in the movie. Reminding everyone that they won't solve any mysteries on vacation. Velma tried everything to prove that the original movie we saw was not real, that zombies were actors.
Fred and the villain were the only funny ones. Fred was the only character I liked in this. So we can say that one point is for Fred. The rest of the movie gets a zero.
Unutulmaz (2009)
Season 2 ruined everything
The first season had a good story. Main guy is engaged to a woman but falls in love with her younger sister.
The series was entertaining if you ignore that the actress who plays Eda stays poker faced all the time.
Other than that, I really liked Melda, her sister. Intelligent, elegant, mature, with common sense. Harun did care for her but fell in love with her younger sister. However all of those got ruined along with season 2. Melda went crazy, entered a relationship with the main villain, harmed herself with a clothing hanger to lose the baby. What's going on here?
I honestly preferred normal season 1 Melda with Harun and Eda with Tolga.
Tolga dancing with Eda had more chemistry than her and Harun had in the whole series.
Despite this, it was quite enjoyable.
Season 2, not so much. This is why I removed few points.
Adini Kalbime Yazdim (2013)
Main actor leaves the series half way and the others try to save the story
There were rarely cases when due to personal or health problems some actors would leave during filming.
But the way it happened here clearly showed that the writers got taken off guard, not having enough time to save the story.
The villain suddenly takes the main character's place as the love interest after the main character randomly dies. Seriously? He just died? Leyla clearly didn't love Halil in the first few episodes but after this happened, a new villain even worse than the first one got brought to help save the series.
Now I understand that bringing a new love interest for Leyla half way through the series was impossible so the writers had to improvise.
Despite almost everything getting ruined:
The acting was good. The first part of the story was good.
Kurt Seyit ve Sura (2014)
Kurt Seiyt started to act like a villain at the end. I hated him for what he did to Sura. Petro treated Sura better
I will be talking only about Kurt Seiyt adapted in the series, not the real person.
Loved the music, costumes and acting.
I was disappointed about the series not having a happy ending and Sura x Seiyt's relationship ending up so fast.
The story was very good until Seiyt slowly started to use and abandon Sura just to marry someone else because it was his father's wish.
Sura was never introduced as his official girlfriend/fiancee and he didn't show intentions to marry her. For someone who didn't read the book before watching, this came out as a disappointment.
When meeting Sura for the first time at a ball:
Seiyt made a bet to seduce the first girl that entered, which was Sura's sister Valentina, who was engaged. Sura entered after that and Seiyt started to play a seducing game just to bring her into the sheets and to break her heart later on.
Petro, despite turning into a sly villain, he treated Sura better and loved her more.
1. Petro was worried after realizing that Sura fell into Seiyt's seducing love game trap.
2. After Sura started drinking because of Seiyt, it was Petro who took care of her and who lifted her into his arms after her legs paralyzed. Seiyt was nowhere and didn't care.
3. Petro took Sura into his home and looked after her until she stopped drinking and went back on the right track.
4. Petro's love confession to Sura was sincere, not a bet for fun & games.
5. Sura got attached to Petro and wanted to marry him. She didn't know about the evil things Petro did but cared for him for the way he treated and respected her. Despite Petro being a womanizer before, he agreed and wanted to marry Sura because he loved her. Seiyt kept Sura as a toy and married someone else.
6. Seiyt killed Petro out of revenge but also out of jealousy, to leave Sura completely alone.
Now about what Petro did:
He was a sly villain who stopped at nothing to obtain what he wanted. He held a grudge on Seiyt for many reasons but:
1. He didn't directly go himself to kill Seiyt's parents but they did die because of Petro
2. Shot Seiyt's brother out of fear that his plot will be found out but showed remorse for what he did.
What Seiyt did:
1. Shot Petro in the limbs and if that was not enough
2. He buried Petro alive and then the next scene cut showed him waking up in bed happy next to Murka without any regrets. Forgetting about his despicable act and forgetting about Sura.
We were eating while watching that scene and almost choked. No one stopped Seiyt from becoming a cold blooded killer. We kept waiting saying "No way they will show something so cruel in this series." But him waking up in bed happy after the killing got us more upset.
Those who say Petro got what he deserved are clearly ignoring what Seiyt did and see him as a saint and hero when he proved otherwise. He didn't save sura from alcohol, depression and loneliness.
He could've shot Petro or arrest him. Not bury him alive. Why get jealous of Petro wanting Sura if Seiyt abandoned her?
Then Sura left and barely know what happened to her. She just randomly met a guy and left with him. But he was still clearly a better choice than Seiyt, despite appearing one minute on the screen.
20 Dakika (2013)
It was interesting
Love the music. Toygar Isikli also did the music for EZEL. Ipek Bilgin is a great actress. I was interested to see her in a negative role after she played a blind character in EZEL.
The story was good and became more and more interesting with each episode.
Good acting overall.
However, it would've been better if the main character told the truth from the start instead of beating around the bush, since the inspector and her husband struggled to free her. Was it that hard to speak?
Her husband went through a lot and committed huge crimes, took loans, got beaten up, lost his job, just to free his wife. While she was standing there and wondering if she was guilty or not.
Mummies (2023)
Funny and enjoyable 9/10
You should give this movie a try and don't mind the bad ratings. It has romance, it has entertainment and good music. The villain is funny too: some momma's boy archeologist in his 50s who tries to become famous by capturing mummies.
The kids should rate this movie, not the parents. We can clearly see that the parents give low rating for no good reason. I read a review where someone gave 1/10 for the only fact that the voice acting was bad. The voice acting was not bad at all. You can clearly understand and hear what they are saying. It's an animated movie for kids. It had humor and there is no swearing.
