There's a lot of buzz around whether Flamin' Hot tells a true story or not, but for me the accuracy doesn't really matter all that much. It's still a nice movie either way, albeit commercial (and it's not a documentary, c'mon).

Linda Yvette Chávez tells the tale of Flamin' Hot Cheetos through the lense of Richard Montañez's life. The plot generally surrounds his personal struggles in his career and subsequently the development and marketing of Flamin' Hot Cheetos. By the end you are left with a inspiring commentary about how no one is defined by a title. There's some good jokes sprinkled in, too.

Also, the movie does it's job as an ad well, so maybe have some Flamin' Hot Cheetos on hand.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is advertised as a movie for everyone, DND player or not. This made me hopeful for the movie, however I was disappointed when I found myself getting bored and lost at points throughout it. The world is interesting, but there wasn't much time spent on accustoming the viewer to it. You're pretty much just thrown in, which I definitely could have looked past if the story held a grip on me, but I found it to be slightly cliché and uninteresting. Take this for what you will, as I'm not really an action movie person in the first place, but I was definitely lost to daydreaming during some of the middle parts. The action to meaningful story ratio simply wasn't my cup of tea.

The actors and actresses all give great preformances, though. Justice Smith's character goes through a fulfilling character arc, one of the things I liked, and Hugh Grant plays a very comical and convincing villian.

If you are familiar with DND and/or enjoy movies with a lot of action, I would give this a watch, but it wasn't for me.

I was in a crowd of about 1300 people when I watched Self-Reliance, and it was as if the entire huge theater was laughing for the whole hour and a half. It absolutely pushes the limits of absurd comedy, and personally, I think it has found the sweet spot. You never know what's coming next, and it can literally be anything. What you do know is that it's going to be hilarious. The mystery of learning about the situation alongside the protagonist combined with the ridiculousness of the comedy was a perfect match for me.

The story is strong, too. Without saying too much, it is a powerful statement on loneliness that I feel everyone can relate to.

Theater Camp is a very funny modern take on the mockumentary style. For me, it is reminiscent of What We Do in the Shadows kind of humor. It pokes fun at everyone; there is no traditional everyman.

Both ends of the spectrum are laughed at. We get jokes at the expense of influencer, bro-ey type guys, and also the classic, quirky, theater-obsessed kids. I think thats part of what made it so enjoyable. EVERYONE was made into a satirical hyperbole of a cliché we all know.

The story was nice, too. It takes you all over the place and ties together in the end for a cute, and still funny, conclusion.

It really doesn't take itself too seriously, and is a very sweet watch.
