Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)
Matrix meets David Lynch
My gosh words cannot express how flipping awesome this movie is!
It's like The Matrix meets David Lynch. A scifi psychological thriller,
With lesbian representation!
And the dad is super cute I am crushing.
It also deals with mental illness in a really good way.
Highly recommend!
Bridgerton: Diamond of the First Water (2020)
Ooo, aaaa, culture.
A fun look into a fictional old england era.
How the rich ladies cope and handle with their societal rules and expectations, while also showing they are so much more than what they are told to be.
Kôkyô shihen Eureka Sebun: Glorious Brilliance (2005)
More of a sci-fantasy skateboarding show, isn't it
Gecko State is a skateboarding crew let's be real.
That's why they have their relation dynamics, the going against the government thing is really just a plot device to keep the show going forward.. and it's all very cool!
Cool!
Kôkyô shihen Eureka Sebun: Absolute Defeat (2005)
The adults act like teenagers
Anyways..
Eureka got to see a very sensitive and honest side of Renton, as Renton being himself foiled a hazing prank his crew pulled on him. We also get to learn about the crew member.. Doggy? He's a funny guy, talks very street, seems okay as a person, dating one of the women crew members.
Kôkyô shihen Eureka Sebun: Childhood (2005)
A friend-family dynamic like when we were teens on mmorpgs
The kids mess with Renton, Renton finds out why (which I'm going to leave out so there's no spoiler.)
The kids accidentally shut down the ships camouflage, Renton saves the day. Eureka be's a teen mom some more. We're still not told where the heck these kids came from or why they're aboard the crew. Are they the adult crew members children and the adults just aren't telling Renton that? Are they rescued orphans? Are both they and Eureka going to turn out to be robots? We may never know.
Kôkyô shihen Eureka Sebun: Vivit Bit (2005)
Yikes Talho, please stop sexually harassing the boy.
The crew goes on a shopping trip in a city. Talho is very bored and decides to take advantage of Renton's naivety of his love interest in Eureka and how obvious he is about it, blackmailing him into being her servant.
Meanwhile at a restaraunt they encounter some no-gooders with what I believe to be military mechas, a very drunk Talho picks a fight with them but is outmatched, a very creep no-gooder then tries to assault her in the parking lot. Renton takes a chance at defending her with her mecha, and well, the rest would be spoiler I guess.
Kôkyô shihen Eureka Sebun: Watermelon (2005)
So.. I take one thing back, maybe.
The touring flying surfboarders Gekkostate,
who exactly are the military they're fighting against? We don't really know yet, of what the military is about. Though we are given a glimpse at another faction of it.
Also, it turns out Euraka really is a fellow teenager, and does not actually have children. Phew, romance plot crisis averted.
Kôkyô shihen Eureka Sebun: Motion Blue (2005)
Oh..kay?
Come on, this doesn't happen in real life. Adults don't get mistaken for children by other children for just being short. Ridiculous, and honestly, the show turned a bit sus.
Kôkyô shihen Eureka Sebun: Blue Skyfish (2005)
Love on the battlefield
Kid did an ollie and a kick flip! Birds liked this.
Dad made plans for kids future, and the plans are taking fruit?
Kid's crush crushed the bad guys.
Kôkyô shihen Eureka Sebun: Blue Monday (2005)
"I (and I cannot stress this enough) am 14."
So far so good, a bit iffy which directions it's going to turn in further episodes.
So, we have a boy that's very much in his own world, which isn't too out of the blue of a teenager. And a Grandpa who regrets letting his now deceased son into the military. And a mysterious 14yo girl with a mecha, and 3 military (or militia?) men with quirky personalities, one being a mystical thinking stoner named Stoner.
Deep Water (2022)
They aren't meant for each other.
Went in thinking Melinda was going to be in on it, killer couple so to speak, turned out not to be the case.
I'm trying to wrap my head around the point of this film.
Is it awareness to there being people trapped in relationships with abusers? That's the best takeaway.
Anyway, I liked the side characters a whole lot. Poor old man..he almost had it.
The Adam Project (2022)
Generic
A depressed smart weak boy meets his badass future self, they help resolve each other's & their family's personal life issues (which there's really barely any of tbh) while rescuing the world from a villain time traveler.
