Nowhere near the beauty of the original with Gwyneth Paltrow. These characters are unbelievable and all are dull in every way you can be dull. Wasted 2 hours watching this ridiculous remake. The production value isn't even worthy. Why are producers inclined to remake movies which were at first perfection? I would not recommend this movie ever to anyone...just a gross waste of time. Nominated for awards? HOW is that even possible? The chemistry between the cast is entirely lacking as in nowhere to be seen! I think this should have gone straight to video or been put on network tv. Especially disappointing are the actors that portray Emma and Knightley. Also Miss Bates.

Cast is great. Story so far interesting. Technology involved spot on. Some say Butler is Elvis again...not so. Just his reserved handsome self. He's not loud and flash on or off screen. Young actors all very good at their craft. While it's not to be compared to OLD Ww2 movies and tv series, this stands on its own merits. Spielberg and Hanks may have passed their prime and may want to tell stories of older men, they aren't suited to tell stories of the young , that's in the rear view. Even if they try to be current or relevant they can't seem to manage either. Leave these projects to the next generation of innovators who are current and very good at their various movie making crafts. The actors in this series are young and bring their fresh takes to the task at hand and I applaud them for so doing.

My personal recommendation would be watch this series you wont be disappointed The negative views are no doubt from those who are jealous of the chops of this group of young actors.

The camera stays on the two female stars forever in far too many scenes. I don't care about any of these characters. The aliens are cool looking but not sinister enough, as it seems that's what they were going for. All acting is blah. Extremely slow pace, glacial. Unimaginative writing of these characters, they are all a cliche, and what their stories are is Boring. As in just try to stay awake. Nothing original at all in the lackluster writing. Watching this makes you think it's a very low budget series. Don't know what the director is but, tempo and pace are sorely lacking throughout. Also the use of F%#£ by the mother in front of her children.....not realistic. All moms I know watch their speech in front of kids.

The footage, the lovely narration and perfect editing make this series a hit! Home run with Tom Hiddleston, well done Apple t.v. For us arm chair travelers shows like this bless us in so many ways. Being able to see and hear these magnificent animals from the comfort of the couch...well it works for me. Please continue to bring the beauty and wonder of our world to us, please. Kudos to all the camera people and the many hours spent filming these images many of which have not been seen before. Artists one and all. It's difficult to find a show to truly get lost in, series like these do just that...sweep you away and almost put you right there. Tv is pretty much trash now if it weren't for this type of show there's be nothing to watch at all. Old movies and nature shows. Keep the rest. E wet thing changes and changing faster and faster all the time, but creation does t change. Magnificent animals don't change. This is comforting.

Leto is great in this. Also Jennifer Connely but it's really difficult to stick with. These addiction stories are really hard to watch because they rarely end well. To state the obvious. If you're looking for an entertaining movie pass on this. It's too hard and toooo sad. This is a very different role for Ellen Bursten. She's normally cast in a fairly sweet and passive character. She's pretty good in this. Again very hard to watch her descend into a ridiculously awful situation. Hers friends are one of the high spots of this film. They are adorable. This film needed more surrounding characters who weren't addicted and less tragic to make it bearable to watch. SAD.

Average writing, lots and lots of violence and gore. Boring Acting is average. Penn is not good at comedic efforts. So it falls flat there. Kind of a waste of time. Only watchable when absolutely nothing else to watch. Don't see this lasting much longer. It's infuriating that the writers seem morbidly interested in this sickos methods and execution. Just what our violent sick society needs MORE VIOLENCE AND SICKNESS! Trash this one ASAP. Give us more intelligent zero violence shows to watch. We don't need this extended view of a psychotic mind....again it's in the news DAILY. Our world needs inspiration to be better in every way.

Watch it. Kinda quirky but fun. Not to be taken seriously, like all of David Arquettes movies. It's based on a true story but it isn't meant to be a serious retelling. Just a quirky fun movie. The music is outstanding, and makes the movie. The old cars are awesome too. Ya gotta love that Arquette still goes at a script with his own style, he's always off beat and isn't that why we love him? Times passes quickly watching this film. There are no slow over emphasized scenes as so many movies resort to but are utterly boring. Don't know why it got so many low ratings, maybe people were expecting a serious film. Again, it's not a serious film so don't go into it thinking you'll see something like The Untouchables....forget about it.

Beside the kids beings great, this is very different for Ethan Hawke and he pulled it off...creepy creepy creepy. The music is great. A couple little twists...always welcome. Only criticism is that the audio isn't the best....sounds garbled at times. This is a movie about kids, and I loved it. These kids are smart and resourceful....something we parents aren't always willing to see or admit. All learning about life in their own particular way, they all become characters you actually care about. Ethan hawkes brother is such a dufus but ya just gotta love him because of it. Even the cops aren't cops you hate. Kind of wished it was longer, could have watched the brother and sister more. So not a bad little horror flick. Giving it 2 thumbs up and recommend watching.

Give Austin an Oscar. He's not too young and he nailed it. Put Tom Hanks out to pasture. The movie is outstanding and Austin is captivating. Hope he gets more starring roles in big pictures. Can't wait to see him again.

The music is classic and Austin's singing is spot on. How did he even do that?

Visually stunning , typical Baz. About time he did another stand out. Thanks Baz. Thanks HBO max. Big screen or not this movie is moving and inspirational. Elvis had deep and meaningful roots and his music and his life were the fruits of that. So glad we had Elvis, even if only for a short time.

Tim Hanks is almost comical in the fat suit and the funky accent....out of place in this film. Although it's nice the colonel was depicted as he was....a leach.

What gorgeous gigolo is going to endure this ridiculous chatty silly woman YUK

Don't waste time on this All talk. Too much talk. Not at all interested in her story and craving his. Never delivers. Stupid ridiculous waste of time.

Love the lack of back stories, love lone survival , love Zac in this film. Agree...beautifully shot. Great movie. Losing faith in movie industry too but this one is a pleasant surprise.

If you're sick of disgusting images and vulgar base language....this movie is for you. Clean intelligent...well Jane Austen. Mary, if for no other reason, is reason enough to watch. She's hysterical. Love this movie.

Interesting mystery. Good acting. Amazon please give season 2!!!!! Hate when we're left dangling. All the personal stuff going on reminds me of Loat quite a bit....which of course is a very good thing.

Taika waititi is simply great in this! Whole cast excellent. Was completely surprised it was so beautiful and emotional. If you haven't seen this yet, do so!

The writing is superb. The acting wonderful. Comedy great. Taika is sexy in this snd gentle. I've never seen him act this type of part before. Well done Taika. You are someone I hope stays true to self cuz I reckon you're a genius. Steer clear of Hollywood.....it's not a nice place.

HBO give us more of this fab show.
