Refreshing New Rom-Com
11 February 2023
First of all I am soooo glad Rom-Coms are making a comeback!!!.

After all this time and ALL THE CLICHES in the world (main reason why romantic comedies are dying, I suppose) "Your Place Or Mine" gift us with a completely refreshing format!!!

It's not the same old story, and it's not the same old script where all the jokes have been told and all the characters are just different versions of themselves.

I don't know why took Reese and Ashton soooo ling to finally make a movie together!! This is the collab I never new I so desperately needed.

Even though for most of the movie you don't see them physically together, they just have suuuch great chemistry!! I am already dying to see another movie with the two of them in it!

The kid actor (don't remember his name but I know he is Jimmy Kimmel's nephew) did a fantastic job as well and him and Ashton did sooo great together. The kid for sure has a bright future in acting.

What I am so impressed by is seeing Ashton in a "fatherly" role, I had never seen him play this type of role before, and it suites him.

Reese knows how to pick her movies and she never disappoints! I am yet to see a bad movie by her. And also, her production company is doing great at picking the projects that are worth producing!

Great call by Netflix to have collaborated with "Hello Sunshine"and hopefully they keep picking up projects by them. So refreshing and original and different from everything we've all seen a billion times!

I say watch this fantastic /feel good film! You will not regret it.

The second best thing to happen In recent years...
3 October 2022
The first being Melinda and Rachel deciding to make this podcast!!.

EVERYONE was soooo damn good!! NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS would have I imagined there would be a time the cast would reunite to re-enact one of the most iconic episodes of my all time favorite show!! I am very protective of the original show, but I am so impressed by Autumn and by Kristine. The infection , the tone, EVERYTHING! Kristine is a PERFECT Marissa!! And Autumn, gave me even more Lindsay vibes, than Lindsay, if it was even possible! Haha. Goes to show how good of an actor she is, and how we didn't get to see half of her abilities displayed in her original character (Taylor) . She has soooo much in her!!! I need to say that Marguerite played a killer Alex!!! I don't know if she has ever played a lesbian character IRL but I need to see that.

On top of everything Julie, Kirsten, Summer and Zach are still there!! They gave the exact same vibes as if it was an actual episode and we were still in 2005.

I do not know the actor playing Seth, and even though we all can agree, Seth is Seth because of Adam, Wyatt did AMAZING! Had he seed more than the episode he watched to prepare for this, I am sure he would've have been the exact same Seth we all love.

Now, I need to say, as a true fan, it would have been AMAZING to have Adam, Ben, Mischa and Peter for this table read. And I hope eventually we get another one and even though I know I am aiming too high, I hope everyone is there.

How weird (in a good way) and emotional must had it been for them all to read these pages again!!! All the memories. I mean, specially Rachel!! Since she had an actual relationship that came from this very show.

NOW, let's be honest... I never thought the chemistry would be there after 18 years. BUT IT IS!! And I can see how much everyone enjoyed themselves and felt a true connection as if it was season 1 and they all were having a blast working together for the first time and creating this amazing show that changes so many lives (including mine). I really hope this experience sparks the interest of them all to return to either a movie or just a single reunion episode , and Josh, Stephanie and a studio or production company decide to bring The O. C back to live in a foreseeable future.

Thank you Mindy, Rachel and everyone else reading and involved in making this happen!!!!

Anne Plus: ANNE+ Esther (2018)
Season 1, Episode 4
10/10
Anne+ Esther

Esther was interesting.

The story was engaging as always. It embarks the viewer in the ¨ fantasy¨ many people have of a relationship or encounter with someone with ¨power¨. Teacher- Student, or in this case Boss- Employee . The secrecy behind it all, etc.

It was fun. Not my particular fantasy, but none the less I enjoyed the episode. I am sure many people who actually have this kind of fantasy, would enjoy it even more.

Another 10/10 for me.

Anne Plus: ANNE+ Sofie (2018)
Season 1, Episode 3

ANNE+ Sofie
16 August 2022
Another great episode.

I don't have much to say other than I am really blown away by the way the story gets told in such small amount of time (10 minutes). I am just as invested in Anne's story as I was during the first episode.

I would give this one a 10, as I have all other episodes, however, I feel like I didn't really fall for Sofie, or at least I didn't understand why Anne fell for her so fast. Maybe they could've extended the running time of this episode, to show us more of their relationship? Even though I understand a 10 minute run is part of the appeal of the format. Maybe they could have told their story in 2 episodes as a one time exception?

I don't know, maybe they just wanted us to feel like Sofie wasn't REALLY as important. I guess I will find out as I continue watching.

Anne + Lily.

Fist of all, how is it possible that none else has reviewed this episode???!

This very first episode is sweet and human, and so relatable, specially when talking about relationships and love and how, to the fault of none, even if people love each other very much , love can dissipate or transform to some other type of love.

I love Anne already and I wish her happiness. I really want to see how her character develops and what writers want to tell us about her journey through this first season ( I looked and there are 2 seasons so far ).

I really liked Lily as well.

I want to mention this is definitely a must if you are looking for a show with great queer representation.

I will continue watching and keep whoever is interested in reading these reviews, posted. :)

So far a 10/10.

Anne Plus: ANNE+ Janna (2018)
Season 1, Episode 2
10/10
Anne + Janna

This second episode did not disappoint, pace and story arc are just as good as the first one.

Guess what? This episode is only 10 minutes long as well! I didn't check the other episodes running time, however I can safely say that they all are the same length. I am veeery impressed by how in such short period of time they manage to make you care for the characters and feel invested in the story.

The most impressive part is the fact that you really don't feel like there's a whole in the story or that there's something missing. You get told everything that matters about each character .

In regards of the plot of this particular episode... I get why Anne liked Jenna, I would have probably liked her as well, but dude, she was a jerk, and so were her friends.

This episode is also a 10/10.

Sweet and Human.
15 August 2022
I don't even know how I found out about this series, but I am really glad I did.

I've been watching a lot of T. V show hopping to find one that I truly like and that engages me but have had no luck until just now. (I believe I begun my search 3 months ago).

Let me begin by telling you that never before have I watched a T. V show with subtitles other than English to Spanish ( My native tongue is Spanish and I only learned English by the end of high school). Anne Plus, is a show from the Netherlands and the actors speak Dutch. It was not an inconvenience for me whatsoever. The pace is so well developed and each scene keeps you engaged so it really doesn't matter what language they speak, you want to keep watching. Not to mention at least this very first episode was really short, (Only 10 minutes long) and yet it tells you enough about each character and the plot and storyline (the arc) is completed in those 10 minutes. Just as well as if it was a 30/45 minutes show.

I will continue watching and keep whoever is interested in reading these reviews, posted. :) ( So far I have seen 3 episodes, and the feeling remains)

So far a 10/10.

Not Okay (2022)

A Political Commentary About Sociaty and What We Prioritize.
10 August 2022
I am trying to write shorter reviews, so I will not extent on the plot or the meaning behind everything.

I first want to say that Zoey Deutch NEVER disappoints. She is quite a great actor and I only see big things coming her way. Mia Isaac, I didn't know till now, but this kid is brilliant!!! From the very first speech scene, I LOVED her interpretation. She is a natural. I felt every word she said when she was talking about gun violence. I almost cried.

I think the main themes in the movie (social media, instant gratification, gun violence, etc) were great way to get conversations started. Very suited with todays climate, whether you are pro or against either.

I like how we didn't really se a complete arc on Danni. They way the movie ended is very reflective of how life really works. We don't always get what we want and went we do it's not always what we REALLY need.

Even though I am ok with a not so happy ending I feel bad for Rowan's character. But again, it is also reflective of the struggle after trauma and how it is a long process before you are actually ok, or kind of ok. But she didn't deserve what Danni did on top of everything else.

In general terms I liked the movie, the message behind it , the pop culture references to thinks I love, like Harry Potter, Avril Lavigne, Hunger Games, and more. And I loved the soundtrack. Saving some new songs on my playlist.

THE NOT SO GOOD (or that could have been better).

I really liked Dylan O'brien's character. He was very believable as the stoned-head, douchy, kind of famous guy. He did really embrace it a md got on my nerves . But I wish he had more screen time. As a character he didn't have ANY redeeming qualities that would make you understand why Danny liked him in the first place. They should have worked more that part of the plot.

I also kind of didn't understand why if Danni's parents seemed to be wealthy enough, she had a really crappy apartment and seemed like she was struggling a lot. One could argue it's because she wanted to ¨Make it on her own¨ or it was due to depression or whatnot, but I am sure they could have explained that part a little bit better, and also, show us a little bit more her relationship to her parents.

Was the mom the same actor who played Miss Honey, in Matilda?, - I checked and she is indeed.

All in all I liked the movie a lot, and I would probably see it again at some point. It would be a 7.5 if the website allowed it.

Welcome to the OC, Bitches! (2021 Podcast Series)
10/10
This is everything i never knew I needed.
21 July 2022
I am certain The O. C will never get a reunion episode .

I also hope there will never be a reboot. Even if Josh Swartz ever got asked to and paid a trillion dollars for it. NOTHING could EVER be made that remotely compares to it. He even tried with Gossip Girl, but it was a different thing. Same formula, equally successful and interesting and fun to watch ,but just a different feeling.

Don't get me wrong. I LOVED ¨The O. C¨, but it is the same love I have for it that makes me want to protect it. Reboots almost always ruin things. I don't want that to ever happen to my favorite show as a teen.

That being said. ¨Welcome to The O. C Bitches!¨ is the best thing that happened to me due to the Pandemic. This Podcast is EVERYTHING I never know I needed, and I am soooo thankful for it.

As previously stated, ¨The O. C¨ has a very special place in my heart. Definitely my biggest obssesion as a teenager therefore I was really surprised to find out this podcast was being made.

Melinda and Rachel are soooo much fun together. They have such good chemistry. Not only do you as a fan get to be behind the scenes and learn what was happening when each episode was being made but you also get to learn a lot about production and what working for a T. V show is really like. They analyze each episode, character, the writing, the music, the camera angles, what each crew member does and how it all contributes to the show being made and resulting in the best dramedy show the 2000´s had to offer.

Melinda has such insight and the way she analyzes each character and their motive is very interesting. How both Rachel and Melinda talk about the characters as if they were real life people and how they are now, after 18 years able to separate themselves from the show and see the characters rather than themselves and see them as an actual person is very funny and also super intesting. It kind of makes me feel as if they were my friends and we were all gossiping about our neighbors or friends from school . As if Marissa, Ryan, Seth, Summer, Julie, Kirsten, Sandy and these other brilliant characters lived right near my street (my ultimate dream as a teen) and we were just talking about what we just saw happen with them at school or in front of our house.

I love every single second of the show and I look forward to every Tuesday so that I can see the new episode on their YouTube channel.

I also love EVERY single guest they have brought along and their perspective of what it was like and what ¨The O. C¨ was like for each one of them.

I know there are lots of ¨The O. C¨ fans out there, so, If you are one of them, you should definitely watch the video podcast, or catch in on Amazon Music, Spotify , Itunes , or anywhere else you listen to podcasts. (I believe some countries also have it available via HBO MAX).

If you haven't seen ¨The O. C¨, check the actual show too. You won't regret it. You could actually watch the show and listed to it's respective podcast episode right after. I am doing that right now.

I get as exited for each podcast episode as I got growing up, and it actually gives me the same fuzzy feeling. Thank you Rachel and Melinda for making it! You are both brilliant!.

10 out of 10, for me, and if I could, I would rate it a 100 out of 10.

It Was EVEN BETTER Than I Anticipated
25 June 2022
I already had hight hopes for this movie. I knew I was going to like it even If it was bad, just because Dakota Johnson is in it. But it turned out to be 100 thousand times better!

It is in many ways a feel good movie, but it also is deep and sad and human. Every character is perfectly tought. No filler characters. Each one of them is there for a reason and I just love how much love was put into each one of them.

Leslie Mann! I had no idea she was part of this movie. She is beautiful and brilliant as always!

I have no idea how on earth I didn't know about Cooper Raiff 's existence until now! He is a brilliant writer/director, and he is a GREAT actor as well. His character was so relatable , and funny and witty , and not to mention suuuper cute. Andrew was so genuine and it didn't look like acting, to me. It felt like Andrew is the way Cooper is in real life and I hope that is true, I need to know there is people like Andrew in the world. Sooo kind and sweet and selfless. Andrew gives me hope for humankind.

I LOVE that Vanessa Burghardt is in the spectrum in real life and that they gave her the job rather than going with a neurotypical actor. She did great in it, I loved how she played Lola.

Vannessa and Dakota's chemestry was superb. My favorite scene is by far the first party, where Domino is in a very sutil way trying to get Lola to dance or interact with the other kids, and how they start playing boardgames but Domino does not treat Lola like a baby or a thing that's going to break. She treats here just like any other teen her age.

Dakota and Cooper were adorable together also.

I must admit that even though I started watching the movie because of Dakota ( I have a massive crush on her) whenever there were scenes of her and Cooper, I was just looking at him. Not only because he is really cute but also just because I trully loved his acting and I loved Andrew more than I love watching Dakota at this point, And that is A LOT to say, because I trully love her.

If you are looking for a movie with a message and that would make you feel warm inside but also remind you that we are all human. You need to watch this.

I will be looking forward to seeing more Cooper Raiff's movies and the next TeaTime production!

Just Like A Very Long Boring Movie.
29 May 2022
Last two episodes have been like a very long movie . The kind that has nothing happening, kind of like the in between before it actually becomes interesting.

I keep blaming it on the gaps and missing bits from the book this was based on (Haven´t read it) and I am guessing it feels worst for people who actually have.

I don't see a character I can relate to, and I don't see actual connection between any of the couples. Again, not because the acting is bad or anything like that, but because of the dialogue.

It feels like the story is pointless at this point. They took Frances back to her parents house, and those scenes really are so bland and make you feel a bunch of nothingness . I guess writers meant to make you feel sorry for her and her family issues , but I felt nothing.

I wonder if the book is better are making yoy feel emphaty for either of the characters, or if you feel the same as you do when watching the show.

As mentioned on my last review, will finish it just because I am half way there, but will not watch a second season if there even is one in development,

the only reason there is more than 1 stars in my review is just because I know the actors are good, and it's not their foult the project doesn't show case their talent.

Not Interested In It Anymore.
29 May 2022
I can't really say I have enjoyed watching any part of this episode or the plot anymore. I don't think it helps that it is so slowly paced. I do not find in intriguing anymore.

I will continue watching because I am kind of half way through, and just to see if anything changes, even though I am actually getting tired of it.

I figured by now the plot would have developed waaay more than it has. I read another review from like episode two where the person stated it is boring. I want to see it in an artistic way and I also want to give it the benefit of the doubt however, I am starting to actually lose faith.

Again, it has nothing to do with the actors or their chemestry but everything to do with the writting.

I hope it picks up.

I Can See What They Are Trying To Do
28 May 2022
I understand this series is based on a novel by the same title. And I see how maybe the book tells a more complex story between all the characters. And this is maybe why I feel like there's more to their stories, like there is something missing and there are gaps.

I totally understand it is hard to accommodate a whole book into a script and there will always be something missing. However I feel like there could have been more done so that we feel either connected to the characters or like we can relate to them and how they connect to each other. I for instance do not really see why Nick and Frances like each other so much and I honestly couldn't care less if they get together or not. This has nothing to do with the actors and their chemistry and EVERYTHING to do with the writing and the script.

I feel like unless you have read the book, you will not really feel empathy for any of the characters. This is because we need more of their back stories or relationships .

On the contrary , I am actually way more intrigued by Bobbi and Melissa. I want to see more of them and what happens with them. At first I thought the four of them were main characters, however, I am starting to feel like these two are not main.

I also understand that maybe in the book the main character is only Frances, and maybe it is narrated through her point of view and this is why we only see from her perspective, and see what happens around her and what happens to other characters only when she is in scene. But I think it would make the story more interesting if we could see what happens even when she is not around. Maybe not from the other characters perspective, but as an omnipresence entity.

This is another 7 for me. I still keep high hopes for better episodes. The story is not a bad story, It just needs to be told a little different maybe.

I know the show has potential to make me love it with capital letters and make me feel for each of the characters. Let's see what happens next.

This Episode Was Slightly Better Than The Last One
28 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This episode was a little faster paced than the last one. I was more into it and payed closer attention. Last episode I didn't feel like I would miss much if I looked away for a while , like when texting someone or something.

The plot gets a little more intricate. I like that. I feel like none of the things that happened or were said were fillers. I felt like there was a purpose to everything going on.

Even though it still felt like there are things in dialogue that could be better written, I enjoyed it all enough to keep me intrigued for future episodes.

I would give the episode a 7/10 as I did last one, however It does deserve a 9 solely for the sex scene at the beginning. The moment right after they are "done", [link=nm2519720 was superb! I knew there would be a moment were she would show of her acting skills! I have never seen this actress before in anything else, but I already know from that scene she will do great things! Her acting alone is the reason for my 9. I can't wait to see another magnificent performance from her in later episodes! Very promising actress!

I have hopes for better and even mind-blowing episodes, even though I am not totally impressed by much of what has happened in the past.

Kind Of Expected More from This Episode.
28 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This one kind of means to give you a better look into Frances' background, however in my opinion, the writers fell short. I can see what the purpose was, but I felt like maybe the dialogs could be improved. The scenes with the mom and dad felt bland.

I did enjoy the scenery. The takes when Frances is ridding the bus back home, the road and the houses are beautiful , in a simple way. I do really enjoy it when they make simple/regular things look pretty.

Conversations with the character of Jim seem kind of purposeless. I want to see though if he will have a major role in the story in future episodes.

Love every look, every facial expression and every line delivered by Jemima Kirke I feel like so far she has made all the right choices for her character. I can also tell Alison Oliver is a pro, and so natural.

This episode was also very slow paced, however, It kind of gives me an "indie movie" vibe. So I like it to a certain degree, from a general point of view, but not really as much if we were to just focused on the writing.

The kissing scene was deep. You can feel what the actors are feeling. They want to kiss and are soooo into doing so, but at the same time they both are so conflicted. Specially him. It is not always easy as an actor to covey completely different emotions at the same time. Props to both of them but specially Joe Alwyn

Will Continue Watching.
28 May 2022
Often it happens that the first episode of a really great series isn't as great as the whole series in general. And from just watching the first episode we can't really judge the whole plot or project in general. This is the case happening with this first episode.

I can't tell so far if it is something I am going to love and get super exited about, or if it is something I will like, just enough to keep me watching but not enough for me to get super hyped about.

If I am honest, I was first drawn to this show just because I am familiar with Jemima Kirke 's work. Also, the format (as seen on the trailer) kind of reminded me of Girls (2012) . A show I truly loved and looked forward to watching every week.

I will continue watching. I liked it, it's just that the development of the episode's plot was kind of slowly paced and predictable at times. I hope I am wrong and I hope the writers did this on purpose. Like when they make you think you already know what is going to happen, but then throw a curved ball at you and so what you though was going to happen is not really what ends up happening at all.

So far I loved the acting .The main cast has already proven to me what they are all capable of, and this is the main reason I stay. It looks like ahead, there will be some award worthy performances . Looking forward to seeing that.
