Pachinko: Chapter Six (2022)
Soo Hugh was right. Lee Min Ho has the power to control the screen.
Hansu was on screen for less than a minute but when you have a formidable actor who can radiate power and mystery into his portrayal, every moment stands out. Lee Min Ho is truly one of the finest actors of his generation. Every time he appears, the level of immersion increases.
Showrunner Soo Hugh was right. This actor has the power to control the screen.
Pachinko: Chapter Seven (2022)
Where was the actor in this episode hiding all my life?
I not only discovered such a painful history but a whole actor whose performance blew up my expectations of what a good nuanced acting really looks like.
In just 40 minutes, the background of the Japanese army's atrocities during the Great Kanto Earthquake lays out the background of Koh Hansu's life and character formation. An old documentary-style prequel. Lee Min Ho contributed the best acting in the whole drama. A phenomenal actor with a scintillating screen presence who is oh so good to look at. What else does an audience need?
