Yes: 9012 Live (1985 Video)

YES rocks!!!
1 October 2007
For those who never cared for YES's music, this video probably won't make them fans of the band. For those (like myself) who live for their music, it's awesome! YES disbanded in 1981 and reformed in 1983 with three long time core members (Anderson, Squire, and White) one original member (keyboard wiz Tony Kaye) forced out of the band early on, and a new kid from South Africa (Trevor Rabin), and this group of musicians put out a YES album (90125) that not only won over past skeptical critics, but youngsters who had never heard of the band. The 90125 album not only sold over 5 million copies, but kept the band touring for over 20 months around the world to sold out shows everywhere. The musical also attracted a young Steve Soderburg, who was recently out of film school. He approached YES with the idea of filming a whole concert and then adding all kinds of avant-garde doodles around the edges, that makes the film seem like one continuous music video! Even to this day (21 years later) this film stands out as not only a great music experience, but a hilarious film event as well. Great job to YES, and Soderburg!!

Living with the Enemy (I) (2005 TV Movie)

Terrible acting, weak cast, but.......
27 August 2007
I was pleasantly pleased with the ending. I just saw this movie yesterday, and was going to turn it off, but changed my mind. It was not at all the direction I thought the story would end on. Thats about all positive I can say about this film. All of the actors are nobodys, especially the lead. While she is an attractive young woman, she'll never make it big. The writing, direction, and acting are wooded, sort of like what you would see on daytime soaps. The filming locations were very clever in making you think it could be anywhere, instead of blatantly tipping off it was in Canada. As this was shot entirely in Canada, I'm assuming the entire lot was Canadien, which is not entirely bad as some recent Canadien TV productions: "Cold Squad", "Stone; Underover" are quite well done.

Great Show!
27 August 2007
I have been watching the syndicated version of this show this past year, re-named "Stone Undercover" for here in the US. I Like it a lot, and ma surprised that it was actually produced five years ago up in Canada, and never heard of it before. The two leads are great with a lot of chemistry between them, the only cast member who seems two stiff though maybe she was told to act that way, is Sherry Miller (a very attractive women for her age) as the Police Captain. Chris William Martin plays this role with roguish charm, but he makes it far more believable as a good guy, than a bad one. The show seems to have been done in two parts, as while the cast mostly stays the same, the second 10 episodes have different feel two them, in writing, direction, and locations used to film. Not the first time that a show goes through some re-tooling, I guess. It's a shame this one didn't have a longer run.
