MacGyver: Quarantine + N95 + Landline + Telescope + Social Distance (2021)
Worst or funniest show ever
Wow. Up until now I have been liking the remake. Not great but a decent update. But this particular episode was so bad. From praising the proven liar and botch king, Fraud-ci, to really, really overdoing it on all the wrong things to do. They actually had MacGyver try to write a song about the idiot who tried to ruin the country. He already ruined the education of millions of children and made them more scared of their shadows so let's try to wipe out the country. But it takes place in California, what do you expect. They do everything backwards and wrong. It started out dumb and just got dumber as it went along. There's only a few episodes left of this show but it will be hard to bounce back from this idiocy.
Z Nation: The End of Everything (2018)
Disappointed!!!!!!
What a terribly disappointing final season and finale to a used to be great show. The show was eclectic. The anti-Walkng Dead. The Walking Dead taken to the nth degree. It used to be silly and meaningful. They ruined it by going too long. The whole preaching aspect was done to death. If that's all they wanted to say, the last season could have been 5 episodes. Along with season 7 of Buffy, the entirety of the Wire and West Wing, bad shows that go on too long or not at all. Bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad. If you are planning on watching this show, stop at the end of season four. At last you'll be happy.
RoboCop (2014)
Sooooooooooooooo Bad!!!!!!!!!!!
They took a perfectly great action film and made a sequel that absolutely nobody wanted or needed. They tried to make it "woke" and by portraying the police as mindless and dirty. All they did was make every day Americans hate hollywood (small h intentioal) even more. The only thing that the movie did hit upon was that congress (again intentional) didn't want the robots investigating them. But they treat that line as a throwaway. It's so bad. It has none of the humor and snark the original had. Not to mention that they wasted a great cast. This movie could have been so much more.
Backtrace (2018)
Missing something
This wasn't that bad of a movie, in spite of Matthew Modine in it. It seemed like it was missing about 10 to 20 minutes of exposition. Some things needed better explaining. Had things been better explained, it would not seem like a waste if having Stallone in it.
Busanhaeng (2016)
Warning!! No zombies here!!?
I loved, loved, loved this film. Cramming people and putting them in danger by trapping them on a train. Genius! My only objection is that they are not zombies!! Zombies do not sprint. Call them what you like but don't call them zombies. Still a great movie. Definitely check it out.
The Gallows Act II (2019)
Not a bad sequel
Truly we have seen enough films to know that sequels usually suck. There have been a few exceptions. And this movie was really close to joining the endless list of sucky sequels. The lead was not a very good actress. Some the the dialogue seemed forced. And, again, using some people that had limited to no experience. But you have to give it a chance until the end. Excellent twist. I won't explain it but it really makes the movie rebound back up.
The Gallows (2015)
Wonderful horror film
I have grown tired of the "found footage" films. Just another gimmick that has been overused but this one is finally one that doesn't seem forced. There's a solid explanation for it. And it works. My only critique would be that there could have been done better acting. I understand that it was the first film for a lot of these people. And they did a great job. But it truly was fantastic.
Child's Play (2019)
Lame Remake
Wow, I was really hoping that the Remake would, or could, be something special. Getting Mark Hamill to do the voice should have been great, especially after his wonderful take on the Joker from the animated Batman shows and movies. But what a waste. Not really suspenseful or frightening. Cliche after cliche after cliche. The main kid is okay but the other kids seem like they're the producers kids or something. The kills are minimal for the first hour and fifteen minutes and then it turns into a bloodbath. Where was the violence before? Don't waste your time.
Fantasy Island (2020)
Not bad for a Blumhouse film
A lot of the Blumhouse films are hit or miss. This is one of their better efforts. Interesting take on the original TV show and they did it pretty well. It's not going to win any awards but it was pretty good for a horror film. And Lucy Hale is trying hard to be this generation's Jamie Lee Curtis, starring in low to medium budget horror films to launch your career to better things. The plot meanders here and there and some of it is predictable but overall a decent movie.
Halloween (2018)
Save your time
I heard great things about this movie. "It brings back the essence of the original." "It's the best sequel ever." It was lame and boring. First, it totally skips over all the other sequels. Yes, I've heard that before. But I figured if they did it well, it wouldn't matter. They did not do it well. Second, they get a writer/director who has never done horror before. He had no sense of suspense or mystery. I'd have to check what he has do e before but is was probably mediocre, at best. Thirdly, it goes at least 30 minutes before there's a kill. And that's a flashback from the original. Most of the kills happen off screen. And those are pretty lame. With all the advances of CGI and make-up, you'd think they would be a bit more creative. And lastly, it follows a very, very, very similar plot line to the original. Including camera angles and shots. Bad. Bad. Bad.
Scoob! (2020)
Saved your money.
My God, it was bad. Trying to understand what the hell they were trying to say with this mess. Some of the plot made sense but we've been through the whole "one of them gets something and leaves the rest of the gang" schlock before. At least in the past those movies were entertaining. This is just down right bad. Portals to strange lands and and supernatural crap do not belong in a Scooby Doo movie. It took three people to come up with this crap and four people to write it?? No wonder Dax Shepard left the project. He's an idiot and wanted nothing to with this mess. The epitome of the stupidity that is this pile of trash is in the middle of a fight/argument, Velma shouts "toxic masculinity" like a dumb ass. They made Fred dumb, Daphne forgettable, Velma ignorant and The Blue Falcon stupid.
Superman: Red Son (2020)
Sooooo Bad!!
Don't waste your time. It is poorly written. Poorly voiced. I understand that this is an Elsewhere comic but it seems like they are doing nothing but trying to exult the Socialist and Communist way of life. And when you think "Superman" will realize that communism is wrong, he goes further off the rails. Then they try to add way too much to an easy hypothetical. Do not waste your time.
John Q (2002)
worst movie ever
This is one of the worst movies ever made. It showed that if you can't get what you need, commit a crime and the people in charge will let you have it. Exploiting people and their emotions by committing crimes will never make for good movie-making
Coupling (2000)
Friends with sex only better
I accidently found this show while watching the BBC Funny Awards and it is the funniest thing to hit TV in years. I watch this show every week on BBCAmerica even though there are only 14 episodes and I watch them again and again. Great writing and characters. Jeff is the funniest man on TV and Steve is the best straight man. Susan is the sexiest woman around and Patrick is a treat. There is talk that NBC bought the American rights to this show and is making it into a sitcom here to take over for Friends and its done and they could not have picked a better show. It is better that Friends and funnier too.
