When the Mist Clears (2022)
A Film Lost In It's Own Copy And Paste Formula
Sometimes a film is so boring that you question what's the value of your time. I can see the audience intended for the film it but it still fails it's own audience. Nothing but a variant of the same love story we've been accustomed to.
Actors did a subpar job, felt like they were casted either through nepotism or based on looks alone and the worst part about it is that the actors constantly looked like they forgot their lines. The main character is really pretty but she acts like a 14yr old who was casted through a high school popularity poll. The rest of the cast doesn't help either, as they walk into sets; read their lines and then get off camera to never exist ever again. Dialogue scenes do nothing but show you how emotionless the actors are.
It's amazing how not active the plot is. Perhaps the writer didn't get enough time to flesh out the script/plot, because this feels like every other half-baked romance movie. Character interactions are constant expositions which keep droning on and on.
Overall, this is the type of movie you'd wanna play to do something else. Requires no attention at all, so you can play it when you trying to get to second base with a partner as background noise and once you're done, you'd give it one glance and know exactly what has happened.

Wasted Potential??
Friends cockblocking friends is something I know of and when I saw the synopsis, I didn't know how to feel about but I wanted to watch it. The topic at hand is portrayed almost on the nose, the matter being dealt with is usually very subtle but would be noticeable by an adult of the same past experience.
The film concentrated more on the act of cockblocking than the reason behind the actions. At times it will feel like it's spoon-feeding you the film rather than letting you figure out the film yourself.
I have to commend the idea though, as the person who came up with it had to face their own actions and realize what they were doing. An idea like this one definitely comes from experience.
Actors seemed to understand the film and script which resulted in them yielding a performance better than one you'd see in modern blockbuster films.
Had the film taken the cockblocking very seriously, this would've been a gem to it's intended audience.
Overall a good film with undeniable wasted potential.
