Unthinkable (2019)
8/10
much needed entertainment during lockdown
14 July 2022
This released during lockdown when the pandemic was REALLY getting to me and I was beginning to question a lot at work - and in my life in general.

Though I went in expecting a basic Vivica A. Fox thriller that would give me a good thriller fix, this was way more than that. The ideas of going too far in one's job were inspiring to see onscreen. Very entertaining film.

While it's lower budget, this makes you wonder what these guys can do next. There wasn't any section of Unthinkable when I wasn't engaged. I always wanted to know what would happen.

Very grateful this released when it did while the world was shut down. I'll remember watching it and having my expectations surpassed when I was quite miserable in 2020.

So overlooked it's criminal

How did so many people miss this film!?!

Gorgeous, literary, stunning. Characters are richly written and acted.

This film deserves to find a new audience. Pretty sure almost nobody watched it because they were distracted by pandemic.

DO NOT MISS THIS INCREDIBLE FILM and if a critic railed against it, do NOT listen to their hateful jealous ramblings. Great film.

a really good, fun watch

Honestly, I have to support new action films with this much substance. Though a slow burn, the relationships and the richness of story is all here whereas that's all missing from most new action/thriller releases

The sequences are SO GORGEOUS hence my 9/10 rating. The acting is great and Thandiwe seems a little crazy to me, but her acting is excellent. Chris Pine is often excellent

Love this great 2022 release. Haters please take several seats

Great film. Very fun.

ECCO (2019)

A More Complicated Action Movie
14 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
....but in a good way.

If you're an action guy like me, but dreading the next empty release banking off Bruce Willis, Nic Cage or some name, then definitely give ECCO a watch.

ECCO is like the opposite of hollow new action releases. In fact, there is way too much going on in the story. Giving this a generous 9/10 because more people should see it and I want to support smarter action.

Happy I found this despite it having ZERO recognizable actors. Even though they couldn't get any names, the action sequences are excellent! ECCO does get in its own way and I wish it had been shorter, but the clones twist made it highly worthwhile... WATCH IT

CAn't wait to see what this director does next.

Why the bad reviews?

Just saw this. The acting is great! Very sleek action flick with underlying depths and pain. There is so much more to the story arc here than most films bring. While it follows a relatively clean-cut revenge plot, there's a haunting quality to its characters that makes this film rich and makes you feel.

No idea why people are bashing here! Not the best title, but everything else is strong. Don't believe the haters. Never seen Jaime King act so well. Antonio Banderas is as good as ever. Not just an action film, this is a story about loneliness and the human connection.
