Indiana Jones Adventure in a 2005 package!
31 August 2005
I just finished Sahara and boy am I glad I didn't let poor reviews dissuade me from this film. Sahara was an absolute joy from beginning to end. For me, the action, adventure, and lightheartedness of Sahara immediately brought back found memory of the Indiana Jones trilogy. It has been quite a while since I've seen an action movie with imagination and adventure that managed not to take itself too seriously. And that, I believe, is the key to Sahara! By avoiding the drama and seriousness exhibited by so many recent action flicks it endears itself to the viewer and makes unbelievable characters and situations much more palatable. I would suggest Sahara to anyone looking for a fun movie that will take them on a action-packed adventure with a few good laughs along the way.

The Single Best Movie I've Ever Seen!
15 May 2003
This movie exceeds all expectations, blazes new paths, and sets new standards in BOTH story telling and FX. To those that would criticize the plot of Matrix Reloaded I say "open your mind". The single characteristic of both Matrix movies that sets them apart from the norm is not their innovative special effects, but rather their philosophical approach to story telling. What some view as a weak plot is truly the greatest aspect the movie. Simply put, the answers are not fed to you! The Matrix Reloaded challenges you to think, to grapple with questions that transcend the movie, and to ask "why?". It explores human emotions such as love and hope, and then pits these emotions against logic and reason. The viewer is meant to struggle with these questions in the same way the characters do. In this way the characters become all the more real and believable. That being said, the special effects in the Matrix Reloaded are once again mind-boggling! The level of detail and magnitude of action are unparalleled! This movie is truly a must-see, one of a chosen few.

I give this movie 11/10! Yup, 11/10!

Shoot me now!
5 September 2002
I had the terrible misfortune of seeing Signs and I wish I could gouge the experience from my memory with a sharp object. Signs is quite possibly the single lamest movie ever created! The mind-boggling coincidences, patheticly obvious foreshadowing, cheesy messages relentlessly hurled at the viewer, glaring plot holes, silly use of technical concepts, and all around poor quality can not even BEGIN to counteract the few genuinely creepy or scary sequences. Even if you buy into the explanation that the entire movie was a dream (which I don't) then the idea was not implemented well if only 1 out of every 5000 people got it. In addition, the dream explanation degrades the entire movie into a churchy, "how could I ever have doubted my faith?" piece of garbage! If you see this movie, I'm sorry! If you like this movie, I pity you! If you vote to keep this movie in the top 250, I hate you with a passion the likes of which you've never seen!

Classic Hip Hop/Rap culture movie! Excellent!
28 July 2002
Despite any other negative reviews I truly enjoy this movie! The plot line parallels Scarface very closely but is done in such a different way that the movie has a feel of its own. The acting is excellent, and not just for rappers. All the performances in the movie can hold their own without any pretext. The plot in fast paced and intricate with twists, turns, ups and downs. The language is graphic but not unrealistic for the type of characters portraited. All in all this movie is entertaining from start to finish and all of my friends that have watched it with me have enjoyed it (even those that don't like rap at all).

One of the single worst movies in history!
6 June 2002
This movie, from the first 10 minutes, attempts to make a deep and philosophical commentary on the United States' poor health care system. The problem is that instead of making these points with plot, actions, and emotions, the viewers are beaten over the head with obvious dialogue that sounds completely contrived. In addition, the messages that the movie tries to pass as revolutionary are infact incredibly old and are insultingly simplified to anyone with a high school education or better! In short, the movie attempts to be deep and comes up extremely short (somewhere between insulting and retarded). One final note, on top of my previous complaints the movie is also horribly acted (with the exception of Denzel) and has a ridiculous number of side plots that are also contrived and never go anywhere. Overall, a corny pile of steaming poo!

Excellent and Innovative Movie
20 January 2002
I found this movie to be very entertaining from start to finish. Not only were the aesthetics beautiful and innovative but I found the entire film to be interesting. Like most other reviews I've read, I found the voice acting to be very engaging and believable. Each character had a very distinct personality that was conveyed naturally through the voice acting.

Many have commented that the 2 forms of animation used did not blend well but I would challenge the open-mindedness of these reviews! As someone who does a lot of work in computer graphics I found the mix of CG and animation to be an eye-catching new look. When viewed without bias against the new and unusual these visuals could only be described as breath-taking!

Another prevalent complaint in reviews accuses the movie of a weak plot. While the plot was not riveted with twists, side plots, and subtle meaning I found it to be complex enough to hold my interest through the film (it was not as though I could predict everything that was happening).

On a final note, I found the soundtrack to be very fitting for the movie. It was not overstated and was wonderfully woven into the storyline!

An excellent movie, very enjoyable, high marks for rewatchability (and a very good DVD)

Redundant, Redundant, Redundant!
17 January 2002
Usually a fan of silly/stupid movies I checked this one out hoping it might be something along the lines of Deuce Bigalow or any Adam Sandler movie. It managed to amuse me a few times but overall the plot was not only predictable (which is to be expected) but incredibly redundant!

The film beat the same two jokes to death (Rob wants food, Rob wants sex) with only the slightest variations each time around. By the end I felt like I was watching the same 15 minutes of movie over and over again. This film would have made a mediocre 45 minute flick but at its final running time it is an absolute bore!

One of the WORST movies ever!
17 January 2002
I have seen hundreds of movies and can say without the slightest hesitation that this is one of the absolute worst! The acting from everyone involved is so incredibly stale and contrived that I found myself laughing harder during the serious moments of the film than I did during the parts intended to be funny. The plot leaps around from place to place and time to time with no reasonable explanation of what has happened in between.

In addition, there are crazy unexplained explosions and miraculous injury recoveries. Another reviewer put it best when he said it has the feeling of Cliff's Notes to an already poor script.

I am usually the type of person that finds the good points in a movie and enjoys it for them but I can not say a single positive thing about this awful piece of trash! Not worth buying, renting, or even seeing for free!!!! Anyone who compares this movie's quality to Tombstone is either clinically insane or one of the film's cast members (or possibly both)!

Would have given it a 0/10 if possible! Stink, stink, stink, stink, stink!
