Succession (2018)
.
People have referred to the show as being inspired by King Lear but really it's just a drama version of Arrested Development. A rich family fighting over their father's (although Lucille is more like Logan since she truly runs the company) company while having very little experience to actually run the company. To some of the kids it's actually important, to others it's about the prestige and money and just something to do. Siobhan and Tom are Lindsay and Tobias. (Shiv and Lindsay being 'liberal' when it suites them, Tom and Tobias being the geeky misfit husband who they got together with for the wrong reasons). Roman is Buster with his mommy issues. Connor is Gob, eternally trying for a career that is not for them. Ewan is Oscar, the antithesis of their brothers.
The only question is, is Willa, Rhea, or Kerry Egg/Her?
Elementary: Ancient History (2013)
Stereotype galore
Typically I enjoy Elementary but like all other Hollywood detective shows, they have to ruin it by having an episode about Slavs.
Not only did Sherlock magically find a murder, I.e. Made no sense at all but the whole plot made no sense. First if the victim/murderer is polish from Poland why is he in a Russian mob? Hello Hollywood, there are plenty of mobs out there not just a Russian mob. And the wife couldn't come to America without being involved in p*rn? Really?! And if the victim was religious, again why would he be in the russian mob? Polish tend to be Catholics and Russians tend to be orthodox.
It really wouldn't kill Hollywood to do 1. Five seconds of research on slavic people 2. Represent them as people and not stereotypes.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: Did You Believe in Miracles? (2022)
.
Yes the plotline is frustrating but it's based on a real life case that happened in the early 70s. And yes the real life case is also very frustrating (instead of God's will brainwashing, the guy apparently used 'you're special. You're an alien and if you tell anyone they will vaporize.) She was kidnapped a second time by him after the parents once again let him into their lives but two years later.
How can parents be so naive even in early 70s pre-serial killer phenomena and pre- pedophilia being a well known thing, even if they are in a closed off Mormon community?
So sometimes life is weirder than fiction.
The Rookie: Simone (2022)

How creative a Russian villain with a scar... Hollywood really has no original ideas anymore.
Why is a firefighter at every crime scene?
And the feds side of the story is not remotely interesting.
