Reviews
Gutsy (2022)
LOVED this series.
Ignore the bad reviews, they are bots. This show brought such a great collective of women from around the world. Conservatives, liberals, American or not will love this show. I learned so much about native people, women comedians, celebrities or not, politicians, activists, hate crime survivors, and icons. This show needs a season 2. Hillary and Chelsea prove they are here to stay and show the world brave and powerful women. And the reviews just show that they are doing the GUTSY work. Being GUTSY comes with the pressure and criticism. Thank you for this!!!
My favorites: Gloria Steinem, Kate Hudson, Negin, and the wedding official. That was so vulnerable.
One Week 'Til Doomsday (2021)
Another need to see; it will make an activist out of you.
What makes this documentary worthwhile is that it sticks to a basic point: it doesn't matter if you're republican or democrat, we should all agree on the basic principle of democracy - one person, one vote, and that all people in good standing should be able to vote.
If you accept that premise then it's important to defend it, no matter your political views. Democracy is not a single, simple pure thing. It's messy. Various elites seek to capture the process. Preventing that is not easy.
The film's greatest strength is its moving portrayal of the cost of democracy,
Side note, I loved just seeing the vast landscape and aerial shots of America.
And they filmed this in COVID? Before vaccines? Not too shabby...
Again, whatever your political views, make sure you have the chance to vote - it's your duty.
