Bargain Block (2021)
Quality of their construction....?
The goal of restoring neighborhoods.... great.
But that may be where the good stuff ends with this show.
I can find nothing online about their training in construction. Yes, one can learn on the job - but the learning curve in construction is not a short one. And the buyers - first-timers, mostly - are the people who will inherit the mistakes. And those can be costly, especially for persons who can least afford to correct the mistakes. I've only watched a few episodes ... but I see them laying floor tile incorrectly; painting floor tiles, which will not wear well; painting kitchen cabinets in a way that will wear badly, quickly; placing beds in front of heating vents, etc. And I hear their frequent comments about "tight profit margins".... based on what I have read, these guys are clearing - at the very least - a half a million annually.
Plus, when they skimp on quality, they are "training" badly a whole new batch of flippers and other DIYers, who will pass their mistakes on to unsuspecting buyers. All while ratching up the cost of housing. These are not good things.
Spend the money needed, guys. Do a better job, so you are not sticking it to the buyers. You are going to be pricing many families out of their neighborhoods, you need to at least not double-punk them.
