South Park: The Worldwide Privacy Tour (2023)
Hilarious. On the nose. Commentary. Victim
The worldwide privacy tour is South Park's take on Harry and Megan demanding privacy... while doing interviews, writing books and making a Netflix docuseries. This episode is hilariously on point as the Prince and Princess of Canada do everything they possibly can to draw attention to themselves while demanding you to "respect our privacy!"
This leads to many hilarious bits like the Canadian royals going on the titular "Worldwide Privacy tour", getting kicked out of multiple states and towns for being a nuisance and ending up in South Park, flying a private jet on the street to get to their new home (Cartman's old house) and lighting fireworks and playing polo in the front yard at 10:30 at night.
This episode is so on the nose that as of writing this review (02/21/23) Harry and Megan were rumored to be threatening to sue South Park because the parodying was "mean".
But the A plot isn't the only thing worth talking about in this episode, the B plot focuses on Kyle wanting to improve his image by "working on his brand". Only to realize by the end the only thing that matters is being yourself, and in this era where so many people are afraid to be themselves I think that is something that needs more attention.
Overall 9/10, this an excellent episode and will probably be the the best episode of the season. I mean how do you top this?!
American Dad!: The Long Bomb (2017)
One of my favorite TBS era Episodes of the show
Plot summary:
While having trouble communicating, Stan and Hayley team up to stop a terrorist plot to blow up the Bazooka Sharks arena; Roger pretends to be an escort.
I always look forward to seeing re-runs of this episode, and I never understood why it's one of the lower rated episode. The long bomb contains a lot of what makes American Dad a great show. It has good jokes, good pacing, Stan being awesome and ol' Tawny is hilarious Roger persona. American dad also almost always does a great job parodying movies and this episode is no exception.
I also really love the episodes that focus on Hayley and Stan's relationship, it's nice to see that even though they don't always get along they do love each other.
Overall it's a great episode and I personally believe it should be rated higher.
