Ouija: Origin of Evil (2016)
People liked this?
I did watch the original Ouija, and of course that movie is it's own mess. It was poorly written and the plot was beyond stupid. But to some this is an improvement? I struggled finishing this film. The scares were not only not scary but cliche and looked awful. The cgi is just terrible, and the stretchy face thing the younger daughter does looked so bad but was also just not scary. I think at times it looked borderline silly. The actors are awful, none of them were convincing, and everything was just so lazy. The story was so bad, and the pacing of it was definitely not well done. This movie shouldn't be praised as if it's an improvement over the original. It is just as bad, and in a few ways I believe it is worse. Don't waste your time.
22nd Annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor celebrating: Dave Chappelle (2020)
Its alright
This "special" as I'll call it henceforth was very alright. It follows the ceremony of Incredible Comic Dave Chappele as he received the prestigious Mark Twain Prize. There are a few sets, most being stand up comedy which I'll focus on. The absolute star of the entire special was the set by Neil Brennan, which really shows his long history with Dave while also having Neil's signature "traumedy" style. Sadly, Aziz's set was largely unremarkable but was nothing agregious. Where problems arose was Tiffany Haddish's set which was quite pathetic and annoying. The special as a whole is a good watch if you are a fan of Dave Chappele or any of the comedians there as long as you don't mind a few bumps in the road.
Sheng Wang: Sweet and Juicy (2022)
Incredibly clever, light-hearted, and playful comedy
This special is amazing! Sheng's tone and towards life is very entertaining and has me laughing at every joke. His outlook on life is very intriguing and catches your attention. His varied topics never have you bored, and his jokes on those topics never fall flat. From the first minute he is killing it with incredibly clever and smart observations on things like lotion and Costco. This moves on to topics that may even bring you to rethink things, such as exercise and staying healthy. Sheng Wang: Sweet and juicy is a great special that definitely doesn't have enough eyes on it. Sheng has made me a fan, and I can't wait to see what he does next.
