War of the Worlds: The Attack (2023)
I knew within 10 minutes this was pathetic.
As a prolific fan of all things War of the world's, well at least from the original Orson Wells radio broadcast to the Stephen Spielberg version and even the couple of other British versions this one needs to be
sent far away where it cannot ruin anyone's
thoughts on this classic. They should have named this film War of thebworlds for dummies. Right from the start you can tell this film wreaks of being light weight. And then the news comes of a 60 foot meteor hitting the earth, yet everything within 10 feet is perfectly in tact. If a 60 foot meteor hit the earth it would be as they call it, a world ender with the force of 50,000 nuclear bombs. I stopped watching when the machine started burning people. Well done effects actually. Better than Spielbergs. Unless you are 13 and have never seen any of the versions just avoid this.
8th Round Pick (2020)
More like No round pick.
If you know anything about pro football there is no such thing as an 8th round pick. It only goes to 7. Now that I got that out of the way I honestly don't know where to start here. I know this film was done on a shoestring budget but ... The biggest problem here is the technical disabilities. Why can't we here the girlfriend. Why is the sound a problem throughout the entire film? The intentions are good but the casting is so off-kilter here. Nobody in the entire film fits their part except for our leading man. How did this film get released and actually get on a subsidiary of Amazon? The irony of it all is that if this is based on a true story I turely feel sorry for whomever this film tries to depict. I also feel badly for the people who made this film. They tried to make a compassionate film but didnt have the budget to pull it off. If you have over 90 minutes to burn then watch it. However if you're like me hit fast forward and save yourselves some agony and get to the good parts.
