Bullet Train (2022)
my 2nd favorite action movie in this year
Let me first start by saying I just happen to glance at a few of the 1 star reviews and they almost were as funny as this movie is. They all complained about the gory violence being the reasoning behind their poor review, which is clearly in the description of why its rated R. If gore or ANYthing bothers you enough to make a review about it I suggest you not be lazy and check prior to seeing any film....
Now that I got that out the way. Took my wife to see this film Friday and from the beginning I knew we would like it. Starts off in a older samurai back story setting then you get to Brad shortly after who still looks good and gives you that classic Pitt feel. He's so comedic with out trying lol. Im not going to give a full broken down review of the entire film but will say it has everything in it from laughing, crying, action, gore and I want to say there might have been a quick scene of nudity but extremely brief. If you're a fan of Atlanta, Brian Henry does a great job in this as well. I highly recommend. Oh and you only get Sandra bullock for a quick 5 minutes at the end.
Jurassic World Dominion (2022)
............
Jurassic World: Dominion is an amazing action and adventure movie for the entire family. The movie has great movie script writing and special effects as well as great directing by Collin Trevorrow. The CGI is outstanding, and so are the performances. Along with Chris Pratt (Owen Grady) Bryce Dallas Howard (Clair Dearing) and Maisie Lockwood (Isabella Sermon) reprising their roles from the previous film, which is Jurassic World: A Fallen Kingdom, The old cast from the original 1993 Jurassic Park movie returns in this movie. Sam Neil (Dr. Allen Grant) Laura Dern (Ellie Sattler) and Jeff GoldBlum (Ian Malcolm.) The movie has two plot points, the first one revolves around Clair and Owen protecting Maisie from poachers and bad scientists who want to experiment on her and Blue, the Velociraptor's baby. The second plot point which is the one that most movie buffs, amateur online movie critics and movie viewers absolutely hate in this movie, is about the Locus bugs feeding off of the crops and food sources for the humans, and in order to put an end to this huge problem, Allen and Ellie must go to the Biosyn headquarters building in order to get a Bio-Sample of the Locus Bug's DNA inside of a lab. For me the second plot point is very interesting and it helps the pacing of the movie. Putting both of those plot points together, makes for an amazing Jurassic World film. This movie overtakes my original favorite Jurassic Park movie, which was Jurassic Park: The Lost World, when I was a kid. Jurassic World: Dominion is a great wrap up film for the whole franchise. One of the taglines for this movie is: The Epic Conclusion. I do hope it is the conclusion, because if other filmmakers come along and want to continue this franchise, then movie buffs and amateur online movie critics need to letters and make calls to the production companies and studios, telling them that there shouldn't be a seventh film. The style of the movie is fantastic and I couldn't have asked for a better ending to the Jurassic Park franchise. This definitely gets a full 5 stars out of 5 and is a movie that I think should win at least a Golden Globe. Another one of my favorite things about the way that the movie is scripted, is that the dinosaurs come in straight away, so parents, guardians and older siblings and cousins won't have small children asking them when do the dinosaurs come in. This is truly a terrific movie.
Batman & Robin (1997)
its my childhoof but man its so bad
Hears a movie you wish to not give a single star but, that just means you haven't reviewed it yet. This may be the worst superhero movie ever, even one of the worst movies ever. Let's start with the costumes. They have rubber nipples as part of their costumes, it shows a closeup of both their butts, the batman costume looks more dark blue than black, and robins suit is the new 52 nightwain with a cape. Why does the batmobile look like the inside has one of those electric orbs? This movie has batgirl, and her acting is the worst ever in any superhero movie, even worse than as many people point out how Brie Larson's acting is wooden in captain marvel this is 100 times worse. Now onto mister freeze, he's supposed to be one of batman's most sympathetic villains, but in this movie he makes ice related puns while smiling and freezing random civilians. So in this movie their are puns every 10 seconds, robin is an idiot, theirs a bat credit card witch batman flashes while him and robin are bidding over poison Ivy witch is basically prostitution. Lissen to this dialogue.
Mr. Freeze: you have 11 minutes to thaw the boy. (Robins completely ingulfed in ice how do you know he has that long, that's not even correct.)
Batman: commissioner you have 11 minutes to thaw these people. (How is commissioner Gordon supposed to do that?)
Theirs also poison Ivy who's acting is almost as god awful as batgirl's but still horrible. Her dialogue is bad, her costumes are rediculouse, and she's defeated by being kicked into her flower chair and having it closed on her. Theirs also a scene of batman showing Mr freeze a tiny bat screen that shows poison Ivy confessing to killing freezes wife even this their was nothing their to record it. Bane is also in this movie, he looks rediculous and in the comics he's supposed to be very intellectual and smart, and very strong and an expert to fighting even without his serum. In this movie he's the exact opposite of everything I just used to describe his comic counterpart, the closest thing he gets to a line is, "monkey work".
Hawa (2022)
best bangladeshi movie...worth of money
Hawa", a recently released Bangladeshi movie, has become a crowd puller, thanks to its distinct plot, musical composition and impressive cinematography.
Chanchal Chowdhury (as Chan Majhi, the lead actor and captain of the boat), Nazifa Tushi (as Gulti, the lone female cast), Sariful Razz (as Ibrahim, a sailor) and others played their individual roles with high competency. Struggling lives of seasoned fishermen on board "Nayan Tara", a lost fishing boat in the deep sea of Bay of Bengal amidst rough, stormy and hostile weather conditions got skillfully depicted through some bold, energetic and realistic performance. The plot of the movie created sensation due to its themes of basic human instincts like greed, desire, conflicts, mystery, thrill and suspense, boosted by creative and mystical dose of fairytale fantasy, love and revenge. Though a winning note of good over evil justifiably wrapped up the entertaining production yet scenes containing excessive slangs and gory violence could somewhat be altered or trimmed to make the movie a more family friendly one. Popular folk musical number, "Shada, shada, kala, kala / Tumi bondhu kala pakhi" stole limelight in the most deserving fashion. It has been aesthetically pleasing to watch the immense vastness of the boundless sea and its natural splendors, thanks to some excellent works of cinematography, VFX and 3D animation. Sound editing has been praiseworthy though a few key dialogues seemed less audible at times.
Above all, it has been a delight to see the cine-goers joyfully thronging the theatres to watch "Hawa", the stimulating box-office hit, one finely infused with blended elements of reality and fable.
The Batman (2022)
masterpiece movie that is not for kids
From the first scene itself, it is made clear the amount of thought, work and creativity that has gone into the making of this movie. This movie will scare you, indulge you in its mystery, excite you with its action and amaze you with its commitment to telling a truly dark and gritty tale about the corruption in Gotham. Matt Reeves has done masterful work in directing each scene. He is a point of view driven director. There are many shots in this movie where he puts you in the character's shoes and shows the world from his point of view and how the world perceives him. As Batman enters the crime scene you are put in his POV and can see how much each and every police officer sees him as a menace and doesn't want him to be there. This really helps establish the world and the relationship within in a very subtle way. He also has wonderfully implemented some scenes of horror and thriller which were unexpected and had given way to some nailbiting and riveting scenes! (I think I forgot to breathe during the Batmobile chase scene)
All the Matt Reeves direction has been enhanced by Greg Fraser's camerawork. Gotham is very dark and gritty but never feels dead. Unlike so many other movies, he allowed blacks to be actual black and not shades of grey and then dialled up the contrast allowing the colours to pop! Orange and blue colour has such amazing interplay between them and completely suits the dark depressing setting of Gotham.
Michael Giacchino's score for The Batman is his best work yet. As the film picks up in terms of action, you can start hearing little hints of Dum-Da-Dum-Dum pick up and you just know things are going to get intense. Other than the adrenaline-filled main theme he through his soundtrack is very well able to showcase moments of mystery, emotion and romance (Yes, this movie has romance!)
This might have been the least amount of talking done by The Batman in any of the Batman movies because Robert Pattinson is so well able to display emotions through his body language and expressions. Pattinson brings in a different take on Bruce Wayne, who is depressed and a little eccentric. A billionaire who has travelled the world to gather knowledge and is always analysing his surrounding is bound to be an introvert and kind of a recluse and this is very well showcased by him. Robert has done an amazing job. Talking about side characters there were loads of them and each one of them has done an amazing job. For me, the stand-out was definitely Penguin and Catwoman.
The story is a straight-up murder mystery thriller where Batman and Gordon are sent on a hunt by Riddler which reveals the deep dark secret of Gotham Elites including Batman's own past. Without spoiling much the story plays out very much like Se7en, Zodiac and The Long Halloween comic book. This allows the world's greatest detective to actually do some detective work and you get lost in that journey to trying to piece all the different puzzle pieces. The Batman is not a good story because it's an indulging murder mystery but because it allows the characters within to grow as well. As Batman, Catwoman, Alfred and Penguin are caught in the middle of these murders they all grow as a character in their own way which makes me excited for the sequel.
Finally, I would like to say in a world where most of the comic-book movies now seem like a painting of scenery you have seen a thousand times being sold in Walmart, here is a movie that is something that is hung on the entrance of a downtown museum brought to life by Picasso.
Operation Sundarbans (2022)
fantastic!
Directed by Dipankar Dipon with sparkling visuals, Operation Sundarban is an enjoyable movie. The audience can easily relate to the story. Many were skeptical about the outcome of the movie due to the success of a special force and they're being the producers. But this is not a documentary on the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), but a full movie. It was a challenge for the director to present such an issue-based story in the form of a movie, which he has managed to fulfill. Despite the huge canvas and dense cast of characters, the story is easily predictable. 'Operation Sundarban' could not keep that much secret. A little more care was needed in the character building of the movie. None of the characters, especially the victims, get any sympathy. Which is the weak point of the film. Siam Ahmed has done well in terms of range and character in the story. But according to the character, almost everyone acted well. Nusraat Faria's character may seem unnecessary in this case. Three songs of 'Operation Sundarban' were released before the release. As a result, there was an idea about the songs. Loved the combination of beautiful location and imagery. Movies were dominated by action scenes or gunfights. Which can get annoying at times. But the technical side is the life of this movie. From the cineverall 'Operation Sundarban' is an enjoyable film with a simple story. This film can add something new to the current wave of Bengali cinema.
Matography, editing and VFX will get good marks.
Orphan: First Kill (2022)
i liked it..no please dont kill me
Orphan: First Kill was as surprising and entertaining as the original 2009 Orphan, some might even consider the prequel to be better!
Orphan: First Kill used incredibly effective practical effects to show a younger, less experienced Leena developing into the monster we see in Orphan 2009. Isabelle Fuhrman never disappoints - she delivers an unforgettable performance as Leena/Esther, and I'd kill to see her reprise this role over and over again, or to star in many more films to come. She is a rising star, one worthy of recognition, praise, and award. I hope to one day meet her to discuss how impactful her work has been to women in horror and how much of an inspiration she has been to people like myself.
The film brought a different flavor to the Orphan franchise, bringing a sense of freshness without losing the intensity or the originality that Orphan 2009 brought to the table. The script, filmography, effects, and acting were all impeccable.
My only criticisms are for the moments where the audience must rely on suspension of disbelief for certain plot points and "conveniences" (particularly in the beginning) that I felt the original film did not struggle with.
Overall, I came into Orphan: First Kill with high hopes for a fun prequel to one of my favorite horror thrillers, and I left the theater feeling giddy, proud, and excited to see more from the actors and the franchise.
I encourage all fans of horror to give both Orphan 2009 and Orphan: First Kill a watch (or maybe a few watches!).
I also would like to thank the cast, crew, and filmmakers for putting out such an enjoyable, high quality film during this time where lazy filmmaking has been all too common and acceptable. Thank you for putting so much passion, time, and effort into making Orphan stand out as a continued cult favorite.
