The Real Ghost Hunters (2024)
Very Good
I have watched a few documentaries, on ghosts and spirits and I have to say, I find most of them interesting and this is one of them.
The reason I like this one so much, is that the investigations look real. Rather than deciding to make a film, about ghost hunting and then doing the investigations, for the sake of the film, you can tell because of the cameras that are used, that it is the other way around. These are genuine investigators, that a documentary film maker, has decided to make a film about. This makes the film more authentic and therefore engrossing.
Well worth a watch if you like, ghosts and spirits.
How the Sicilian Mafia Began (2023)
Good But Not Great
This is a good documentary, as it provides lots of detail and gives a good sense of how the mafia, got started in Sicily.
I found this documentary to be very informative, and on an entertainment level, it provides quite well, but was not totally engrosing.
It is pretty well put together, with a good pace, that allows the viewer inside the minds of the Sicilian people, and how they were given a hard time, by the events that seem to have constantly effected their island and therefore their lives.
I am glad I watched this, as it really did educate me on the background and origin of the criminal element and how it evolved into such a sophisticated network, of criminal activity.
Al Capone: The Facts About Al Capone (2023)
Ok, quite good
When I saw this, I thought, Oh another documentary about the infamous Al Capone, but thought I would give it a go anyway and to be fair, I'm glad I did, as it was pretty good.
Off course, I heard a lot of the usual stuff about what a bad guy Al capone was, but what did surprise me about this one, is it gave a fair bit of back ground to him, as a character, which made me feel like I had gotten to know the man, a little more.
This was a little less, of the usual cliche gangster documentary.
Don't get me wrong, the morajority of it of it was violence and corruption, but the fact that the entire thing was not like that, is what made it rather refreshing.
How Zombies Could Happen (2023)
Fab Stuff
Fab stuff indeed. As a massive fan of zombies, I simply had to watch this and I am really glad I did. Fantastic visuals that put you right in the zombie apocalypse and entertain you from the get go.
Very dramatic music also accompanied this, which was very relevant, considering how the zombie apocalypse signals the end of the world.
Many great points raised in this documentary film, that I had not heard else where, gave this film, an original edge.
The narrative was very detailed in its explanation, as to how zombies could happen, which gave this documentary gravitas and weight.
A very insightful documentary.
Is God Real (2023)
Not Usually My Thing
I am not that interested in the whole religion thing, but noticed this film on a streaming platform, and thought I would give it a ago and I am glad I did.
This documentary dares, to ask questions about big subject and ideas. It has been very thought provoking and detailed and brings together a rich tapestry of all the big questions, around subject.
I would recommend to anyone, regardless as to whether or not you are usually interested in a subject like this, because religious or not, this is a matter of looking into something, that has dominated and shaped our world, so is worth looking into.
