Three Wise Men and a Baby (2022)
A new favorite
Hallmark knocked this one out of the park. The writing is fresh and clever (Paul Almeida and Kimberly Sustad). I expected it to be goofy and formulaic, but it touches on elements like failure to launch, anxiety, tricky sibling relationships and single parenting. The actors have fantastic chemistry. The actress that plays their mom is winderful. And of course, it's hard not to enjoy watching these Hallmark leading men. I highly recommend this one ~ it's not all goofy physical diaper changing scenes. There's substance here, and I commend Hallmark on its great writing and casting. I'll definitely be rewatching this one.
Mid-Love Crisis (2022)
Hilarious & Inclusive
Hallmark has stepped up its game this season. The writing and acting is much better. Teri Hatcher shines in this, she's funny and real. And I love the inclusivity. It's a fun & poignant fall rom com with great actors and beautiful scenery. Some may call the premise cliche, but this movie captures the sense of loss when marriages end, kids leave the nest and careers change. The fact that these are common occurrences doesn't change how individuals experience it or respond emotionally. This movie was touching without being syrupy. I'll add it to my list of favorite seasonal movies. Great job, Hallmark.
