The Watcher (2022)
Totally unrealistic, frustrating and irritating show. It's a complete mess.
The worst TV show in the last couple of years.
The claim that this story is based on true events is very far from the truth. Yes, maybe 1% of the story is probably true, but everything else is complete BS: it's just a very bad written fiction (full of plot holes and mistakes) from an untalented writer.
The story, the acts and decisions of the characters are totally unrealistic, frustrating, irritating and dumb.
While watching this nonsense I was constantly feeling myself angry because of the unrealistic twists, which never could happen in real life. I wouldn't recommend this awful mess to anyone to watch.
Loki (2021)
This is not how Stan Lee had imagined it in Journey into Mystery.
This is where they totally ruined Loki's character for me.
This show feels like a bad/cheap parody of the MCU universe's Thor movies.
Yeah, I know, Loki in the those movies was also kidding many times, and he wasn't a very serious character. But in this show they totally overdid it! It's waay to much.
In the show 98% of all dialogues are comic, or rather "try to be funny", but since the jokes are forced and very bad, the whole thing just doesn't work at all. The show is so overwhelmed with awkward dialogues, it's simply impossible to take any scene seriously. To me this show didn't even feel like a real TV show, it felt more like a behind the scenes documentary, in which the real actors just having fun to pass the time somehow.
It was a terrible idea to make an action/superhero story into a bad parody show. This is not how Stan Lee had imagined and written it in the early (or any) comic books. Stan's original version was also entertaining, yes, but was never a bad parody of a superhero story.
Gisaengsu: Deo geurei (2024)
A good story with a terrible execution.
I actually love these kind of movies and shows. I'm a big fan of horror, and I also like stories with parasites. There are a lot of potential in those ones, and they can be very scary and suspenseful, if it's well written/directed. But this show is not.
Choi Jun-kyung (the leader of the parasite hunters) is totally overacting her role. All her scenes seem like a ridiculous parody of a real horror movie.
The people that are infected (ruled by) parasites act like very slow minded persons with serious mental issues. The way these actors present the infected people are simply not believable.
The story is not suspenseful at all, it feels like it's rushed and that makes it chaotic, also making the show hard to follow and understand. I tried (wanted) to like this, but I simply couldn't.
3 Body Problem (2024)
Philosophical shock-fest drama.
Awful, depressing, disturbing show with meaningless, senseless violence and suicide scenes.
It's not entertaining at all, only upsetting just to shock the viewers, which is emotionally harmful in my opinion.
If you are a parent, you really shouldn't let your children watch this without parental advisory (or maybe not at all) if you ask me. I'm fifty years old, but even I found myself depressed after trying to watch this show.
And by the way, I wouldn't even call this show "sci-fi", I mean this isn't something sci-fi genre should be like... at all. It's more of a philosophical shock-fest drama.
From (2022)
"Walt! Waaaalt!"
I really hated Harold Perrineau in "Lost", but mostly because of the character he was playing. In "Lost" Michael didn't do anything else, than betraying everyone in every single episode, and he was shouting "Walt! Waaaalt!" every 5 minutes. Oh, God, that was ridiculous! But that was only his character. In this show I realized, that Perrineau is actually a very good actor. Anything he does, seems authentic.
The others act also very good. There isn't a single bad or untalented actors in this show.
This is actually one of the best mystic/horror/thriller TV shows in the last ten years (or maybe the best?). It's full of suspense, the horror scenes are REALLY scary, let me tell you. I'm not someone easy to scare with a movie or TV show, because I've been watching stuff like this for almost fifty years, but this show sometimes scared the hell out of me.
This show started as a quite basic, but "okay" experience, but from episode to episode I was surprised, that the creators could always come up with something new, something even creepier! If you just started to watch this, DO NOT give up on it to quickly! This one really deserves to be watched, which is very rare nowadays!
Them (2021)
Meaningless violence, torture and irrational characters.
I liked the beginning of this show. It was scary, suspenseful, and directing and acting were very good too. But they totally ruined the last 3-4 episodes. They messed up the positive/good characters (made them into insane, schizophrenic murderers and dangerous, irrational people).
The last episodes didn't solve or explain anything. It's just plain, meaningless violence and torture. It's really hard to even watch and actually impossible to understand the story, because there isn't anything to understand in senseless cruelty and mad behavior.
The end of the season is very badly written and directed, it messed up the entire season for me. I won't even watch the second season, I'm just not interested anymore.
And by the way, this whole season was a big Stephen King rip-off. It was like you were watching a teleplay version of an SK book. The only difference is: SK books have good stories and they make sense, but this show simply DOES NOT.
