Warrior Nun: Isaiah 30:20-21 (2020)
Location scout needs a pay rise
Honestly, there is so much you can take away from your time in Warrior Nun world, but the set and locations used are something else. I've never seen a show where the space used has been selected and designed so wonderfully and thoughtfully before.
Never does a place they film feel unrealistic or unreachable. This episode in particular felt almost dream like, a break almost from the horror (don't speak too soon lol). Even shot gun Mary was on vaccation mode for this and I loved it. It had the exact impact on the audience as intended for Ava - a respite. It's needed. The first episodes for Ava are overwhelming. We've seen her run and experience loss and pain. She needed this, we needed this, so she had a chance to catch up with herself.
Mary knows what she's doing. Of course Ava will follow along soon!

This episode was a slow burn and tied up lose ends beautifully... to an extent! I have so many questions around the halo and where Adriel falls into this. William portrays this character so gorgeously that the danger he represents is palpable. Obviously didnt want to see Ava hurt yet intrigued to see what was to come. So glad Season 2 was out by the time I watched because I don't know how anyone was able to wait.
These women have my whole heart. Beatrice and Ava's relationship and the dynamic between Mary and Lillith has me hooked. All for Avatrice in season 2 so I am hoping it doesn't disappoint. If you have made it to the end of the season and not completely in love with big sis Mary then get back under your rock, we don't want you. The way she is able to understand and comfort in a time of great confusion (both for the audience and Lillith's character) is masterful. I'm praying that the last shot "in this life" isn't what I think!!
Vincent better be ready for what's coming to him.

Beautiful
Honestly one of the most aesthetically pleasing shows Ive ever seen. The filming locations and sets are stunning. In the final S2 episode where the cross is reflected in Ava's eyes is incredible! So well made, better than many shows with a much bigger budget.
Characters are instantly lovable. I do love a sapphic couple, and instantly fell in love with Bea and Ava, but the show is more than that. The character arcs in Season 2 are something to be rivalled! Incredible writing.
Stunts team should be winning awards - who doesn't love a good fight scene, especially one with "sexy nuns with guns"!
Cannot wait for Season 3 (and beyond)!!
