Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022)
If you KNOW who & what Leatherface is.... This is truly Bad LOL
I had some hope for this movie, because in all fairness..... up to this point I genuinely believe that every other Texas movie has either been Good or watchable at the very least.
I have to be honest and say the following.... "If you are a Texas Chainsaw fan/follower", you SHOULD watch this....... And trust me..... You're going to be either Angry or disappointed.
WHY? (You ask) .... because when you see some of the OUT OF character moments from Leatherface, you'll either laugh or be angry.
The guy runs away and avoids gun-fire like he's been trained by a Navy Seal, and does a wrestling Spear to a girl, a 3rd of his size into a pool of water and even throws his chainsaw like he's been taking lessons from a "street fighter" character.
Also..... as you'd normally expect from a modern day movie killer, he miraculously loses his powers and can't fight 2 annoying little heroes that you actually WANT to see killed because they are that annoying.
This film is SO BAD, that Leatherface actually becomes the good guy and you just want him to win quickly so you can turn off the movie and remember how good he SHOULD be.
In saying all this... the movie really does have some very nice gore sequences, and the 1st kill is epic.
It seems like the writers had a beginning and an end...... and didn't care how they got from A to B .... as long as they got there.
Elsie Fisher aka Lila, Alice Krige aka Ms. MC and possibly Mark Burnham aka Leatherface were the only good parts in this movie. Nothing else really fit.
And Olwen Fouere aka Sally was just pointless and wasted.
The best thing about this movie was the flow of action. I'll be fair and say, it was NEVER boring.
One last thing. All the deaths in the movie, should have happened a LOT sooner :)
The Invitation (2022)
Pretty trash movie.
Great start, Ok middle and a terrible end.
Seems like and Agenda was being pushed here.
The writing really suffers at the end.
The movie really seemed to be well thought out but loses massive amounts of steam in the ending sequence.
Outside of the main character, every other character is likeable.
The main bad-guy (Yet again) loses all of his powers and just can't fight back in the end. Its laughable how bad the writing of these movies can get when the makers just want it to end in a certain way.
Its almost like a child kicked their toys out their pram cause their favourite Agenda baby didn't win.
The impression I got when I watched this movie, is that a certain class/culture needs to win over another class/culture LOL ..... Weak.
Only watch this movie if you have been given an Invitation to waste 1 hour and 45 minutes of your life.
There's Something Wrong with the Children (2023)
A below average "Spooky Forest" experience.
I want to stress that this film is NOT bad, and is definitely worth a watch if you have 90 minutes spare and want to watch something.
The overall plot isn't bad. Its not 100% original, but it doesn't do the spooky forest genre any good.
Character development is at a minimum here.
Its hard to settle on any of the characters and fully be on their side for any reason.
The acting is OK and not bad at all.
My main issue with this movie is the script writing and how they get from A to B when moments of tension hit.
Of course its a Horror Movie and its not supposed to be realistic. But when dealing with Human emotion scenes, some of the outcomes seem so unbelievable, it becomes frustratingly annoying.
Also you have one of those moments where the aggressor shows their true power, but somehow miraculously turns it off later, just so the film can progress.
In my honest opinion, it seems like this movie was made to push an agenda. The way these people were behaving, was just far to annoying given the circumstances they were in "IF" they had any sort of friendship.
I definitely won't watch again.
