A Soldier's Daughter Never Cries (1998)
A very enjoyable coming of age drama
I just saw this film at Roger Ebert's 4th annual Overlooked Film
Festival and I was thoroughly charmed by it, despite numerous projection difficulties at this particular screening. Its poignant
without being oversentimental and also funny and engaging
throughout. I'd recommend it highly.
Sneakers (1992)
Its Craptacular!
This movie is poorly written, chock full of offensive cliched stereotypes for the blind. Did I mention that the whole thing makes very little sense and the story seems to serve only as a poor vehicle for... I couldn't honestly tell you. Included are bad cryptology conjectures, a horrible throwaway character serving only as the requisite romantic interest for Robert Redford, and the murder of an ex Russian spy and his chauffeur which is curiously forgotten about halfway through the movie and never alluded to again. Rent something else, I beg of you.
